[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/actions/overview/)
Actions is a beautiful and powerful todo app that makes it a delight to stay on top of your life. Bonobo Actions is available [on iOS and macOS](https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id1227402276?pt=542023&ct=mdshome&mt=8), [web](https://actions.bonobolabs.com) with a [one week free trial](/support/account/purchasing-a-subscription/).

## Actions on the web
Actions on the web lives at [actions.bonobolabs.com](https://actions.bonobolabs.com). Sign in with your Bonobo account to work with the same Schedule, Lists, Logbook, Action Cards, subtasks, and reminders you have on your other devices, all kept in sync through your account. The web app can be installed to your desktop and keeps working offline, so it's handy whenever you're at a computer.
## Getting started
Tasks created in Actions are called [Action Cards](/support/actions/action-card-behavior/) – small, editable bits of information that contain things like titles, due dates, and reminders. These Cards can be utilized across Logbook, Schedule, and Lists, each their own unique but compatible piece of Actions.
In [**Schedule**](/support/actions/schedule/), you'll get an overview of what you have to do and when you have to do it. Centered around your upcoming week, Schedule categorizes your Action Cards by date while always focusing on the time that really matters: today. In many ways, Schedule is the home screen of Actions, as it provides the greatest context of the work you're doing.
[**Lists**](/support/actions/lists/) are for organizing Action Cards under specific groups – think "work," "school," or "shopping list." By assigning a specific color to a List, the Action Cards found in that List will maintain the color, populating the other sections. Proper use of Lists creates an area of reference when looking at the bigger picture of a project, whereas Schedule only shows a week at a time. For the instances when you need to see all the details, head over to Lists.
Actions that are completed are moved to [**Logbook**](/support/actions/logbook/), the one-stop location for feeling proud about the work you've accomplished. It's also the place to go for restoring tasks and reviewing your work over the past weeks. Though Logbook may not see as much of your attention, it provides a key function for boosting productivity: review.
## Productivity Ecosystem
Actions is part of the Bonobo productivity suite. Combine with:
- [Timepage](/timepage) for calendar integration - Timepage's events will appear in Actions' Schedule panel, while Action Cards will make their way over to Timepage. Through the merging of tasks and calendar events, Actions and Timepage help you never miss a thing.
- [Flow](/flow) for visual planning and note-taking - Sketch project ideas, brainstorm, and take visual meeting notes
- [Overlap](/overlap) for time zone coordination - This free app helps you find the perfect meeting time with global teams
- [Get the Bundle](/bundle) for best value - Save 40% with all three premium apps (Actions, Timepage, and Flow) together

# All About Schedule
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Web · Updated 2026-08-13*
Plan your week in Schedule, where your tasks line up day by day so you always know what's next and what's coming up.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/actions/schedule/)
Schedule displays the tasks you have assigned to each day. Starting with today, you'll see a schedule for the next seven days, as well as "Later," which contains tasks further in the future. [Action Cards](/support/actions/creating-action-cards/) that appear in Schedule will be outfitted with their [List](/support/actions/lists/) color.
Whether you create an Action Card in Lists, Schedule, or [Logbook](/support/actions/logbook/), anything assigned a date will make its way over to Schedule under its date. Each day is represented by a header stating its date and day of the week, visibly separating each day while flowing your schedule together on one screen.
## Creating Action Cards
There are three ways to create an Action Card:
1. Tap the plus icon,
2. Swipe down on the screen, or
3. Tap or click the blank space below a date
Once you begin the creation process, you can enter a title, choose a List, select a day, and create reminders before adding the Card to your Schedule. As you're writing a title, you'll see the assigned task date at the bottom of the Card.
## Editing Action Cards
When you need to make changes to an Action Card, you can do so by tapping or clicking on the Card in Schedule. Tap or click the Card's title to change it, or tap or click on the reminders or notes sections to add more information.
On mobile, Action Cards in Schedule can be acted on through [gestures](/support/actions/action-card-behavior/), including marking as complete, deleting, or rescheduling. Because Schedule is the default screen on launch, it's probable that you'll do many of these actions right from this screen.
## Moving Action Cards
Right from Schedule, you can also move tasks to Lists, Logbook, or another day on your schedule by tapping and holding on an Action Card until a shadow appears below, then dragging and dropping it to your desired location (moving to Lists and Logbook is currently iOS-only). On the iPad and Web versions of Actions, this is even easier – where you have to use another finger to navigate the interface during drag and drop, the extra screen real estate means you can typically drag and drop without tapping another option.
## Later and Someday
In the Schedule after the next 7 days there are two other sections:
**Later** shows Actions that have a scheduled date beyond the next 7 days, automatically sorted by date.
**Someday** shows Actions that are scheduled for "Someday". Choose this option for Actions that you want to get back to in the future, but you're not sure when. Actions in this section stay here until you move them.
## Timepage Events
With the Timepage integration in iOS, your calendar events will appear on Schedule under their respective days. The events will show their time, calendar color, and title. Tap to open the event in Timepage.
## Working Across Time Zones?
[Overlap](/overlap) helps you coordinate meeting times globally - and it's free! Perfect for scheduling with remote teams and international clients.
## Review Mode
When a scheduled date with assigned tasks pass, the actions will appear for review in Review Mode. At the top of the screen, you'll see a number next to the icon, signifying the number of overdue tasks. Tap the button to enter Review Mode.
Under "Actions to Reschedule" will be a stack of overdue Action Cards for you to either reschedule, delete, or mark as complete. On the foremost task, swipe up to select a reschedule date, swipe down to delete, or swipe right to left ([or left to right](/support/actions/changing-action-behavior/)) to mark as complete.
Review Mode is an unintrusive way to stay reminded about previous tasks, while also functioning effectively as a tool to keep you on track.
**Note**: Review Mode is only supported in the iOS version of Actions.

# All About Lists
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Web · Updated 2026-09-18*
Organize your tasks into lists you can share, filter, and sort — the main way to group Action Cards in Actions.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/actions/lists/)
Lists are the main organization tool in Actions, helping you categorize and group the [Action Cards](/support/actions/creating-action-cards/) to suit your needs.
You can share lists with others to collaborate on what needs doing.
## Creating a List
**To create a List:**
1. Tap the icon at the bottom of the screen
2. Tap the + button
3. Type in the name of the List
4. Choose a color for the List
> Actions for iPad and Web display Lists by default
Once you have created multiple Lists, it's important to remember that the creation card is always to the **right** of the last List you created.
## Switching between stacked and full-screen Lists
On iPhone, the Lists screen can show your Lists as a **vertical stack** of smaller cards or a **horizontal stack** you swipe through — and it's the horizontal view that lets you open a List full screen. If your Lists are stuck in the small stacked view, here's how to get one back to full screen:
1. Tap the Lists icon in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen (just next to the **+** button).
2. Tap the **List view** toggle at the top of the screen — it's the middle of the three buttons — to switch between the vertical stack and the horizontal stack.
3. In the horizontal stack, swipe left and right to move between your Lists, and tap a List to open it full screen.
## Adding Action Cards to Lists
From any of Actions' main screens – Logbook, Schedule, or Lists – you have an easy way to add Action Cards to a particular List.
#### iOS
- In **Logbook** and **Schedule**, tap the icon, type in a title, and tap "Choose List" below the Action Card. Select the relevant List and tap the icon to save the Action Card.
- In **Lists**, open the appropriate List. Tap the blank Action Card – found at the bottom of the List – and type in the Action Card's title.
#### Web
- In **Logbook** and **Schedule**, Click the Action Card and click "Add to list" in the details pane.
- In **Lists**, open the appropriate List. Hover over the List and click the add button.
On iOS and Web, Action Cards can also be assigned to Lists by dragging them from Schedule to Lists.
**Note**: At this time, drag and drop functionality between Lists, Schedule, or Logbook is exclusive to the iOS and Web versions.
## Sharing Lists
You can share lists with other people who have Actions. If you use family sharing with your Apple ID, you can take advantage of our Family Bundle plan.
When a list is shared, an icon appears next to it's title on the List selector screen and collaborator initials will appear under the title on the list itself.
**To start sharing:**
To share a list, tap the **... Settings** button then tap **Invite Someone**. A unique link will be created that you can share with other people. Once the recipient taps the link they will join the list and their initials will be displayed under the list title.
**To stop sharing:**
You can prevent further people from joining a shared list by opening the **... Settings** screen then tapping **Close Invitations**.
**Removing collaborators**
To remove someone, open **...Settings** on the list and swipe on their name, then select **Remove**
**Notifications**
You can enable notifications on shared lists. Notifications are on by default but can be disabled on a per-list basis by opening the list then opening the List Options and toggling "Notify me about changes".
## Filtering and Sorting Lists
From the Lists screen you can tap the Sort and Filter button. When you choose one of the following options, the list is rearranged. It can still be manually reordered after this.
**Sort options:**
- By name
- By creation date
- By Action count
- By incomplete Action count
- By last used
**Filter options:**
- Show shared lists
- Show archived lists
- Enable focus filters (only shown if Focus mode is enabled and Focus Filters configured)
**Note - if you have Focus modes enabled, the filter and sort button will appear as the moon icon**
## Filtering and Sorting Actions on a List
When you open a list, you can tap the Sort and Filter button to do the following:
**Sort options:**
- By priority
- By creation date
- By name
- By schedule date
Sorting is applied as a one-time reordering of the Actions on the list each time you tap one of the sort options. This means you can manually reorder Actions too.
**Filter options:**
- Show repeating Actions
- Show scheduled Actions
- Show unscheduled Actions
- Show someday Actions
- Show hot Actions
- Show cold Actions
## Moving Action Cards from Lists to Schedule
By default, Action Cards created in the Lists panel are not given an assigned due date. As such, these tasks can be moved from Lists to Schedule while still retaining their categorization under the List. This is done by:
1. Tapping and holding on an Action Card until a shadow appears beneath the card
2. Dragging the card to the bottom of the screen
3. Tapping the icon at the bottom of the screen with a separate finger
4. Dropping the Card on the relevant day
On iPad and Web, you can drag the task from List to Schedule without the need to tap on the Schedule icon.
You can also tap an Action Card in the List panel to change its Schedule date. To read more about Action Cards, check out [Creating Action Cards](/support/actions/creating-action-cards/).
## Visualize Your Projects
Need to sketch out project ideas visually? [Flow](/flow) complements your list organization with infinite canvas note-taking and visual brainstorming.
## Moving Cards from List to List
Action Cards can also be moved from List to List following similar steps found in the above section. After you tap and hold on a Card and drag it to the bottom of the screen, will appear; to move the Card, swipe to another List and remove your finger from the screen to drop it.
> On Web, you can simply click and drag a task from one List to another.
## Editing Lists
The Lists you create today may not be the Lists that stay tomorrow. For the instances when you need to make a change to a List, you have multiple options.
**To change the color of a List:**
1. Tap or click the appropriate List
2. Tap or click the icon
3. Select your desired color
**To edit the title of a List:**
1. Tap or click the appropriate List
2. Tap or click the current title of your List
3. Type in the new name and tap or click anywhere on the screen to save
**To delete a List:**
#### iOS
1. Tap and hold on the appropriate List
2. Drag the card to the trash can icon and release
Alternatively, open the list then tap List Options > Delete.
#### Web
1. Hover over the List
2. Click the trash can icon
**Archiving a List**
Archiving removes the list and its Actions from your lists screen and schedule, but you can view it again by changing your list filter options. To archive a list, tap the List Options then tap the Archive button next to Delete.
**To rearrange your Lists (iOS only):**
1. Tap and hold on a List
2. When a shadow appears below the List, drag it to the desired spot in the order

# All About Logbook
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Web · Updated 2026-08-13*
See everything you've finished in the Logbook, where completed Action Cards collect so you can track your progress.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/actions/logbook/)
When [Actions](/support/actions/creating-action-cards/) are completed, they move to Logbook, where you can get a visual of the progress you've made working in Actions. For the majority of your work, Logbook will simply be a tool of reference; in some cases, however, you'll work on your Action Cards there, too.
With Logbook, you'll have a running tally of the tasks you've completed, with the same [Schedule](/support/actions/schedule/) and [List](/support/actions/lists/) information you inputted in the past. Logbook keeps track of your tasks indefinitely, so you can always go back and see work you've done.
## Adding Action Cards to Logbook
Since Logbook is the destination for completed tasks, the way to add Action Cards to Logbook is by completing them. To do this, you'll need to have created Action Cards either in the Schedule or List panels.
## Deleting and Restoring Action Cards
Action Cards that have been moved to Logbook will behave differently to those in Schedule in Lists. Because they've been completed, there are only two gestures when working with Action Cards: **delete** (swipe left to right) and **restore** (swipe right to left).
> Deleting an Action Card will remove it from Actions entirely – it will no longer be present in Logbook, Schedule, or Lists. Deletion is permanent and can only be undone by tapping the undo icon within a short period of time. After this, **there is no way to recover deleted Action Cards.**
Restoring an Action Card will move it to the Schedule and List panels while maintaining its original date and List category. Action Cards that have been restored act as traditional tasks.
Action Cards in Logbook can be edited by tapping or clicking on the Card. Here, you'll be able to update the name, schedule, and notes, just like you would if the Action Card was in Schedule or Lists. For more information on Action Cards, check out [Creating Action Cards](/support/actions/creating-action-cards/).
## Clearing logbook
You can clear your entire Logbook by tapping **Clear Logbook**

# Creating Actions
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Web · Updated 2026-09-18*
Create Action Cards for the things you need to do, add reminders, and mark them complete from your Schedule or lists.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/actions/creating-action-cards/)
You can create an action for a single thing you need to do, or it can contain lots of smaller items in a checklist.
## On the Schedule
In [Schedule](/support/actions/schedule/), there are two ways to create an action:
- If the task will be assigned to a day in the next week, tap on the blank space below the header
- If adding the task is primarily meant for today, tap the icon on the screen (iOS only)
After performing either of these actions, you'll then be able to add a title and select its appropriate [List](/support/actions/lists/)
## On a List
Sometimes it's easier to brainstorm tasks when looking at similar goals in the same category. In the List tab, you can browse through your various Lists, pick the relevant one, and dive right in.
### To create an Action in the List tab:
#### iOS
1. Tap the List icon
2. Select the appropriate List
3. Tap the icon
4. Type in a title and tap
#### Web
1. Click the icon at the bottom of the list
2. Type in a title and press the "Enter" key.
You can use natural language to schedule an action quickly - typing "Walk the dog **tomorrow**" creates an action entitled "Walk the dog" and schedules it for tomorrow.
An action will then be added to a specific List immediately — no need to assign it upon creation.
### In an Actions Widget or Long Press Menu
Actions can also be created in an [Actions widget](/support/actions/actions-ios-widget/) in iOS.
You can also quickly add an action by long pressing the App Icon from your home screen.
## Completing Actions
You’ve finished your task -- congratulations! Now it’s time to reward yourself with officially checking it off your task list.
### To mark an Action as Complete:
#### iOS
1. Tap the Card in Schedule or Lists
2. Tap "Complete" at the bottom of the menu
OR
1. Swipe from right to left until you see the check icon
#### Web
1. Click the action in schedule or lists
2. Click "Complete" at the bottom of the menu
OR
1. Hover over the action and click the check mark that appears
When a task has been completed, its title will be crossed out and it will be grouped by the week it was completed. List information carries over to Logbook as well, so you can see what projects you’ve been working heavily on. You’ll also see the action notes when tapping into the action, but the scheduled date will have changed to "Unscheduled."
> If a task was marked as complete by accident, you can restore the action by visiting Logbook
If you’d like a completed action to stay in the schedule for an extended period of time, this can be done by visiting "Actions" in Preferences. Under ["Move Completed Actions to Logbook,"](/support/actions/changing-action-behavior/) you’ll have the option to change the length of time before the action is moved to Logbook -- and, if you’d prefer, you can opt to always keep it in Schedule.
## Deleting Action Cards
Action cards can be used in lots of ways, sometimes the most fitting interaction with an action is to **delete**, not complete. Rather than taking up space, the delete functionality will remove the action from the app altogether.
### To delete an Action Card:
#### iOS
1. Tap the Card in Schedule, Lists, or Logbook
2. Tap "Delete" at the bottom of the menu
OR
1. Swipe from left to right in a long motion until you see the delete icon
#### Web
1. Click the Card in Schedule, Lists, or Logbook
2. Click "Delete" at the bottom of the menu
Once you’ve deleted an action, the undo icon will show up at the top of the screen. Tapping this icon will allow you to restore the action.
As an additional safety measure, you can also restore recently deleted actions and Lists by going to "Recently Deleted" in the menu. After 30 days deleted items are no longer recoverable.
## Reminders
In actions, you can enhance your scheduled activities by setting Reminders. Simply choose a scheduled action, and decide when you'd like to receive a notification—either on the day it's planned or several days before. This customizable feature helps you stay informed and prepared, ensuring you never miss a beat whether it's for a meeting, a personal commitment, or just a timely reminder to do something important for yourself.
### To set a reminder when creating an Action
#### iOS
1. Tap the bell icon below the Card
2. Toggle the switch if you'd like a reminder on the day the task is due and select a time
3. Select a reminder beforehand option
#### Web
Currently on the web you need to create an action first before you can set reminders.
### To set a reminder after creating an action
1. Tap or click on an action to select it.
2. Tap or click the bell icon to access the reminder settings.
3. For a reminder on the day of the task, slide to select the specific time you want the reminder, or tap a preset option if available.
4. For a reminder set in advance of the task, swipe to choose the number of days before the task you'd like to receive the reminder.
[Image: Screenshot of the reminders ui on an iPhone, showing a reminder on the day for 10:30 AM and a reminder beforehand set to 7 days]
Selecting "On the day" for reminders in actions allows you to choose the perfect time that suits your schedule. You can customize your reminder time by adjusting the position on a curve to pinpoint your preferred time. Alternatively, for ease and convenience, you can choose from three preset times: morning (8 a.m.), afternoon (2 p.m.), and evening (8 p.m.). These options provide structured choices for when you might need a gentle nudge to tackle your tasks.
When setting a reminder beforehand in actions, you have the flexibility to choose exactly how many days in advance you want to be notified about an upcoming task. Simply swipe to select any number of days up to 100. This customizable feature ensures that you receive a reminder at the perfect time to prepare for your task, whether it's a few days ahead or nearly three months in advance.
## Repeats
Actions can be set to repeat at specific intervals, helping you keep a consistent schedule. You can customize your repeats with the following options:
- **Frequency**: Choose how often your task repeats—daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. For **monthly** repeats, you can pick a specific day of the month (such as the 1st or the 15th) or a relative weekday (such as the fourth Thursday).
- **Repeat interval**: Set more specific intervals, like every other day, every two weeks on a Sunday, every three months on the fourth Thursday, or every four years.
- **End**: Decide when the repeat should stop—either never, after a certain number of occurrences, or on a specific date.
These settings allow you to have repeats triggered either on completion or by time, offering flexibility to adapt to your workflow. By exploring these repeat options, you can create a tailored, flexible schedule that aligns seamlessly with your tasks and deadlines.
**Frequency and scheduling are two separate choices.** *Frequency* (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly) sets **how often** an action repeats — Monthly sits right alongside the other options in the frequency menu, so there's nothing extra to enable. **By Time** and **On Completion** are a separate choice, and they set **when the next occurrence is scheduled**, not how often it repeats. So a typical monthly repeat is two decisions: set the frequency to **Monthly**, then choose **By Time** to lock it to a calendar date (like the 1st of every month, whether or not you finished the last one) or **On Completion** to pace the next one from when you actually finish.
### To add a repeat when creating an action
1. Tap on the clock icon below the card to open the Scheduling settings.
2. Tap "Repeats are off" below the Repeat header to open the Reminders settings.
3. Configure repeat settings for "On Completion" or "By Time"
### To add a repeat after creation an action
1. Tap or click on an action to select it.
2. Tap or click the clock icon to open the Scheduling settings.
3. Tap "Repeats are off" below the Repeat header to open the Reminders settings.
4. Configure repeat settings for "On Completion" or "By Time"
When you select **On Completion**, the task will only repeat after you have marked the current iteration as complete. For instance, if you have a daily task to check the mail, a new reminder for this task will appear the day after you complete the current one. This setting ensures that the task recurs based on your completion, keeping your schedule flexible and responsive to your actions.
The **By Time** setting, on the other hand, schedules tasks to repeat automatically according to a fixed timetable, regardless of whether you have completed the previous instance. For example, if you set a daily task to check the mail but forget to do it one day, the next day you'll find two reminders: one for the new day and another for the missed day. The **By Time** method ensures that tasks recur on a regular schedule, which can be helpful for maintaining consistency, especially in situations where tasks need attention regardless of previous completion.
### By Time vs On Completion
For example: Imagine you have a task to water your indoor plants, which needs to be done weekly. With the **On Completion** setting, once you mark the task as completed, it will not remind you again until a week from that completion date. This is ideal for tasks where the timing needs to adjust based on when you actually performed them, ensuring your plants are watered a week after the last time, regardless of the day you actually do it.
In contrast, using the **By Time** setting for a daily medication reminder at 8 AM ensures that you receive a notification every morning, irrespective of whether you acknowledged the previous day's alert. This consistency is crucial for tasks like taking medication, as it helps maintain a regular routine necessary for health management.
## Notes
Notes are the best way to add context to your action, carrying additional information that can contribute to getting more work done. In Actions, notes live in their own section found after tapping into an action.
**To add a note to an Action**
1. Tap or click on an action in Lists, Logbook, or Schedule
2. Tap or click the Notes icon
3. Type or paste in the relevant content
Notes in actions also intelligently recognize things like URLs, postal addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, flight numbers, and shipping tracking numbers to make your notes even more useful. Through this recognition, you can jump directly into relevant apps or websites that will help you utilizing this information.
Notes follow your actions wherever they go, whether that’s in [Lists](/support/actions/lists/), [Schedule](/support/actions/schedule/), or [Logbook](/support/actions/logbook/). They also sync between devices to keep you as informed as necessary.

# Checklists
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Web · Updated 2026-08-13*
Break an Action into smaller steps with a checklist of subtasks, then sort and tidy them as you tick things off.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/actions/checklists/)
Under each action, you can create a checklist of subtasks. This keeps things neat and tidy, because you might have lots of small things to do which would clutter the action list itself but still need remembering.
#### iOS
- To add a checklist, open the action then tap the `+ …` row and type the title.
- Tapping the tick on the left of the item marks it as complete.
- To delete an item, tap into it then tap the delete button. Alternatively you can drag it to the trash icon.
- Rearrange by dragging and dropping.
#### Web
- To add a checklist, open the action and then click into the checklist. Type the title, then tap the "Enter" key
- Tapping the ✕ icon to the left of the item marks it as complete.
- To delete an item, drag it into the trash icon at the bottom of the checklist.
- Rearrange by dragging and dropping.
- You can click on the progress bar to hide/show completed checklist items
## Sorting checklist items and cleanup
At the bottom of the checklist, tap the sort button to order your items alphabetically or to move completed items to the top or bottom. You can manually reorder your checklist after it has been sorted as well.
The cleanup feature is an easy way to remove clutter from your checklist, especially with commonly edited items like a grocery list. After tapping cleanup, you can choose:
- Delete all completed checklist items
- Delete all uncompleted checklist items
- Delete all checklist items
This is permanent - checklist items cannot be recovered.

# Scheduling, Priority and Deadlines
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Web · Updated 2026-08-13*
Set priority, deadlines, and scheduling on your Action Cards to plan your day and keep the most important tasks in view.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/actions/action-card-behavior/)
## Priority
You can mark individual Actions as high or low priority. Open the Action by tapping on it, then tap the thermometer icon and choose fire or ice.
## Deadline
Actions can have both a scheduled date and a deadline. This is useful when you want to schedule a day to work on something that is separate to when it's due for completion.
When you set a deadline, the action will display that date and how many days are remaining. Your schedule will also display a reminder of the deadline on the day it is due.
To set or modify a deadline, open the action then tap **No Deadline** to choose a date.
## Scheduling Action Cards
When you schedule an action, it will appear on the schedule screen for the selected day.
#### iOS
1. When creating an action, tap the calendar icon and choose the date for your event
OR
1. Tap the blank space below a date in the schedule tab
2. Add a title to your action and all other relevant information
3. Tap the check icon
#### Web
1. Click the blank space below a date in the schedule tab
2. Add a title to your action and all other relevant information
3. Press "Enter"
### Rescheduling:
- Swipe the action the opposite direction to completing it
- Tap or click an action and choose the date
- Tap or click and hold on an action and drag it to another day
When actions aren't completed, rescheduled, or deleted before their assigned day passes, they will be moved to our Review Mode feature, found next to the button along the top. In Review Mode, actions will list all actions for previous days that were left without action; to reschedule these, swipe up on the action and choose the date. You can also choose to delete these actions by swiping down.

# Customizing the Look
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Web · Updated 2026-08-13*
Personalize how Actions looks — adjust text size, switch between day and night mode, and set colors for your lists.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/actions/customizing-the-look/)
## Adjusting Text Size (iOS)
In an app like Actions, it’s critical to have the readability as perfect as possible. That can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people, so we've created a scale of text size for you to adjust if you feel it's necessary.
### To adjust text size
1. Tap the Menu icon at the bottom of the screen
2. Tap "Preferences"
3. Tap "Text Size"
Actions then offers options on your preferred text size, including the ability to use the device's current text size. You can also drag your finger along the slider in the middle of the screen to change the size.
## Day and Night Mode
Actions offers manual and automatic options for Day and Night Modes. By default, Actions is set up in Day Mode, which includes black text on a white background and black icons through the interface.
Night Mode, however, keeps Action Cards the same color while flipping interface colors from white to black and vice versa. Night Mode – as its name implies – is typically switched on at night, but can be used in any situation.
**To activate Night Mode manually**, open Menu and tap the Night Mode icon at the lower right. In the same fashion, tap the Day Mode icon to return the interface to its default.
> On Web, click the Day/Night Mode button at the top of the window next to the Menu button to switch between modes.
**To activate Day and Night Modes automatically on iOS**, tap the Menu icon and choose "Preferences." Then, tap "General" and select "Auto." You can also turn both models on manually in this menu.
## Selecting a New List Color
You can choose from a range of beautiful colours for each [List](/support/actions/lists/)
### To change a List’s color
#### iOS
1. Open a list
2. Tap the color icon at the bottom of the screen
3. Select a palette from Mono, Vivid, Pastel, Muted or Dark
4. Choose from one of 70 colors
5. You can tap the color icon again to quickly try another color
#### Web
1. Hover over the relevant List
2. Tap the color icon
3. Choose from one of 19 colors
Once you follow the above steps, the List’s color will be changed throughout the app.

# Changing Action Behavior
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Web · Updated 2026-08-13*
Control what happens to Action Cards after you complete them, including how and when they roll over into your Logbook.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/actions/changing-action-behavior/)
When [Action Cards](/support/actions/creating-action-cards/) are making the transition from [Schedule](/support/actions/schedule/) to [Logbook](/support/actions/logbook/), they are marked as "complete" and immediately move there. You can change this behavior in preferences.
**To make either of these changes:**
1. Tap the Menu icon at the bottom of the screen
2. Tap "Preferences"
3. Tap "Actions"
**Note:** This preference can be changed on iOS or in the Mac app
There, you’ll see each setting under its respective header. For moving completed actions to Logbook, you can set this setting to "Immediately," "After an hour," "After a day," and "Never." Tasks can expire if not completed at intervals including "After a fortnight," "After a month," "After 3 months," "After 6 months," or "Never."
## Roll Over
If you'd prefer that remaining Actions roll over to the next day rather than sitting in review, visit the Actions Preferences (available on iOS and Mac) in the Menu and check "Show overdue actions in Today section." By doing so, the Actions Cards you've created will automatically be added to the current day.
Under the "Overdue" header in the Actions Preferences, you can also change how you see Action Cards waiting review in [Review Mode](/support/actions/schedule/#review-mode). With roll over turned on, Review Mode will only be activated after a task has been incomplete for seven days or more. The "show number of actions waiting review" setting affects what you see as the Review Mode icon – either the total number of overdue tasks or a basic icon. It should also be noted that with roll over turned off, you'll see Review Mode for **any** lapsed Action Cards.

# Editing Swipe Gestures (iOS)
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-13*
Set up swipe gestures on lists and Action Cards so you can complete, reschedule, and manage tasks with a single swipe.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/actions/editing-gestures/)
In Actions, gestures are scattered throughout the interface to make the experience less about specific touch targets and more about ease of use. But since gestures are supposed to be as useful as possible, we wanted to make sure that you have opportunities to customize them to your liking.
## In Lists
Typically, swiping from the edge in fullscreen mode in [Lists](/support/actions/lists/) switches between each individual List one by one. Alternatively, a swipe from edge gesture can signify a "back" request, taking you out of fullscreen mode and into the Lists switcher.
1. Tap the Menu icon at the bottom of the screen
2. Select "Preferences"
3. Tap "General"
4. Under "Lists," check "Use edge swipe to go back"
## On Action Cards
Different apps have different gestures, which can make it tough to keep track of it all. Whether you’re switching to Actions from a to-do app with different gestures or prefer your email and task management apps to have the same directional gestures, Actions can help.
1. Tap the Menu icon at the bottom of the screen
2. Select "Preferences"
3. Tap "Actions"
4. Check "Swipe right to complete"
This will then flip the default gestures, allowing you to complete an [Action Card](/support/actions/action-card-behavior/) by swiping left to right, rescheduling with a short swipe right to left, etc.

# Sound Effects (iOS)
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-13*
Turn Actions' sound effects on or off and choose how the app sounds as you work through your tasks.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/actions/changing-sound-effects/)
We’ve built Actions with design in mind, focusing on every visual aspect of the interface to make sure it looks as intentional and beautiful as possible. Sound design was an integral part of this process – we’ve wanted to make sure that the sound effects were pleasant, useful, and won't affect your workflow.
When your ringer is on, Actions will play sound effects as you do certain things in the app. Swipe gestures, for example, have their own unique sound effects; the same goes for button presses. These sound effects aim to be representative of the work you're doing while remaining lighthearted and whimsical.
Sound isn't for everyone, though, so we've made it easy to toggle them without having to turn off your ringer.
## To toggle sound effects
1. Tap the Menu icon
2. Tap "Preferences"
3. Select "Sounds"
4. Under "Sound Effects," check/uncheck "Play Sound Effects"
5. Toggle "Play haptic feedback" to turn haptic feedback on or off
6. Under "Reminder Sound," pick from multiple available sounds to play with your reminder notifications

# Using Natural Language
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Web · Updated 2026-08-13*
Type tasks the way you'd say them — Actions reads dates, times, and repeats from your words and sets them up for you.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/actions/natural-language-inputs/)
Setting up tasks should be as easy as talking to an assistant. A lot of task managers we use, however, aren't built to work like real people, instead functioning only through using buttons and calendars to pick out information.
With Actions, we believe that the first step to being more productive is to make it easy to create tasks. Through natural language processing, you're able to tell Actions about your tasks just by writing in a normal way.
Natural language input is currently supported on Actions iOS and the web.
## How to Use Natural Language Inputs
Let's say you have to book a flight on February 1. Instead of picking through dates and typing in lots of information, we've made it simple: "Book a flight on February 1."
Typing this phrase into an [Action Card](/support/actions/creating-action-cards/) title will, rather than adding the Action to today, create a task for February 1 named "Book a flight." In fact, you don't even need to type out the word "February" – if you'd like, you can use the abbreviation.
Using natural language inputs speed up the Action creation process by keeping your mind focused on what you need, rather than an arbitrary workflow. This can manifest in many other ways, too – you can tell Actions to remind you of a task next Tuesday, on the 28th, or in a week.
## Examples
One of our favorite applications of natural language processing is when Actions are to be repeated. For tasks that require a certain interval you can tell Actions to "Go to the store every Monday" or "Pay bill every 4 weeks." Actions will then understand when a repeat Action should be set and create an Action Card for that particular day. Repeating actions are determined by strings like "every," "every other," "daily," "monthly," "yearly," "Mondays," "Tuesdays," etc.
### Example phrases
- Call Mom every Friday
- Check the mail March 1
- Go to the bank next Thursday
- Review money spent every two weeks
- Coffee Sundays at 4 pm
- Pay rent on the 1st of every month
- Coffee every other Sunday at 4 pm starting June 4th until October 4th
- Meeting every other day at 9 am
**Note:** Natural language inputs are only available for the English language at this time.

# Using Siri
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-13*
Add tasks, create lists, and review what's due in Actions hands-free by asking Siri on your iPhone or iPad.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/actions/siri/)
With Siri integration, much of what can be done in Actions through taps and [gestures](/support/actions/editing-gestures/) can be controlled with voice commands through Siri. On both the iPhone and iPad, you can tell Siri to make changes to your [Action Cards](/support/actions/creating-action-cards/), [Lists](/support/actions/lists/), and more.
## Setting up Siri with Actions
To get started, make sure you have Siri enabled on your device. We also recommend using "Hey, Siri" if your device supports the feature, as it’ll let you make commands without touching your device.
You can check Siri permissions by going to the Settings app, tapping Actions, then “Siri & Search”, and making sure the switch “Use with Ask Siri” is turned ON.
## Adding Tasks with Siri
When a quick moment of inspiration strikes, you can log it directly into Actions by creating an Action Card. Action Cards created through Siri act as normal Action Cards, appearing under a defined List given by you as you instruct Siri.
One thing to remember when adding a task: you’ll always want to either add the phrase "in Actions" at the beginning or end of your command to Siri. Without this identifier, Siri won’t know what to do with your task – or it’ll add it to the default Reminders app.
Tasks added to Actions through Siri also must have an assigned List mentioned in the phrase. This should be a List you’ve already created before talking to Siri – if you need to add a List, instructions on that can be found in the section below.
### To add a task, include these three parts
- "In Actions"
- "Add (your task)"
- To my (your List) List
In some instances, Siri may ask for confirmation, which can come in the form of tapping on the screen or responding to a query. Siri will then confirm with you that it’s added the task.
For example:
- "In Actions, remind me to buy milk"
- "In Actions, remind me to buy milk tomorrow at 10 am"
## Adding a List with Siri
If a new project starts while you’re on the go, you may not have the time to enter it in manually to Actions. That’s where Siri and Lists meet – with a quick phrase, you can tell Siri to add a List right to Actions.
Similarly to adding tasks, you’ll want to make sure that you use the phrase "in Actions" during your command to Siri. Lists, however, have a little more flexibility when talking to Siri, giving you a few different ways to create a list.
Here are some examples:
- "Create a List called Shopping in Actions"
- "In Actions, make a List called Shopping"
- "In Actions, add Shopping List"
- "Make a List called Shopping in Actions"
## Checking off Tasks with Siri
Siri can also help you check off tasks, which provides an easy way for you to keep working without interruption. All you need to know is the title of the Action Card and, on occasions where two or more tasks have the same name, the List title.
As always, make sure to use the phrase "in Actions" during your request. You’ll also need to tell Siri the Card and List title. Then, you can try any of the below phrases:
- "Check (your task) off (my List) in Actions"
- "In Actions, mark (your task) as complete"
- "Tick off (your task) in Actions
## Reviewing Tasks with Siri
When you’re looking to review what’s on your agenda for the day, you can ask Siri information about what’s coming up in Actions. This also works for a particular List – Siri can tell you the contents of things like a shopping List.
Before or after the phrases "in Actions," you can ask Siri:
- "What tasks do I have today in Actions?"
- "In Actions, what’s on my freelance List?"
- "Show me my shopping List"
After requesting this information from Siri, it’ll show you a sheet detailing your tasks, including when they are due, what they are called, and their completion status.
## Siri Shortcuts
`Siri Shortcuts` are specific phrases that trigger specific things to happen in Actions. You can set up `Siri Shortcuts` by following these steps:
- Open Actions and swipe to the menu
- Tap `Siri Shortcuts` to see a list of suggestions
- Tap the (+) button to add one of the possible shortcuts
You can then ask Siri to perform that shortcut by saying the exact name of the shortcut title, so for example:
- "Hey Siri, create Action"

# The Actions Share Extension in iOS
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-13*
Use the iOS share sheet to turn links, text, and content from other apps into Action Cards without switching apps.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/actions/actions-share-extension/)
Like [Siri](/support/actions/siri/) and the [Actions widget](/support/actions/actions-ios-widget/), the Actions share extension is an external way to add Action Cards to Actions. By using iOS' share sheet functionality, you can take bits of text and immediately import them into Actions – all without leaving the app you're currently in.
To get started, it's important to understand just what the share sheet is. Typically found under the icon or by highlighting text and tapping "Share," the share sheet offers access to locations to which you can share data. In the middle row are apps that can pass along your information, and this is the area where you'll see Actions' share extension.
When you've found the text you'd like to turn into an Action Card, select it and tap the "Share" button the appears near the text. Then, find tap the Actions extension; if this is the first time adding an Action Card this way, you may need to add the extension by scrolling to the end of the list, tapping "More," and toggling the Actions option on.
Once you've chosen the extension, Actions will display the selected text as one or more Cards – to add many Cards at once, you can select multiple lines of text before tapping "Share." Action Cards in the extension view can be added to any of your Lists or deleted, and tapping the button will immediately add the new Action Cards directly into Actions under the appropriate Lists.

# Actions Widgets
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-21*
Put your schedule, next action, and lists on your Home Screen with Actions widgets, and style them to match your setup.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/actions/actions-ios-widget/)
**Applies to:** Actions on iPhone and iPad.
Actions widgets put your schedule, next action, and lists right on your home screen, and you can size and style each one to match your setup. This page lists the Actions widgets and their options; for the general steps to add or edit a widget, see [how to add and edit widgets](/support/account/adding-and-editing-widgets/).
You can add Actions widgets straight to your home screen and to your Lock Screen. Pick the sizes that fit your layout, stack a few of the same widget with different configs, and match colours to your app theme or set them per widget.
## Getting started
1. Make sure your device is on the latest iOS/iPadOS. Apple's update guide is [here](https://support.apple.com/ios/update).
2. To add widgets: tap and hold an empty spot until icons jiggle, tap the **+** button, then choose Actions (or Timepage, depending on your app). Full steps are [here](/support/account/adding-and-editing-widgets/).
## Schedule widget
Schedule widgets put today's — and optionally tomorrow's — actions front and centre. You can show add buttons for creating new actions, and on the large size, shortcuts to your lists. Turn on **Show Tomorrow** to include tomorrow's actions; on small, with tomorrow enabled, the widget shows only tomorrow to keep things readable. Toggle **Show Lists** in settings for the large size. In all sizes, you can choose whether the Add button is always visible or only **When possible**. Theme is customisable.
[Image: A white widget showing the schedule with today and tomorrow's actions]
- **Small:** Compact view of today (or tomorrow only when Show Tomorrow is on). Optional Add buttons.
- **Medium:** Today and tomorrow in columns with day headers. Optional Add buttons.
- **Large:** Full schedule with today and tomorrow in a two-column layout, optional **Lists** on the right. Add buttons let you create actions for a specific day.
## List widget
The List widget shows actions from chosen lists or from search. Use it to keep a list — or a filtered set of results — visible without opening the app. Actions appear in columns. You can show or hide list titles to free up space, add **Add** buttons (always on or when possible), and tweak the theme. In settings, switch between **List** (specific lists) and **Search** (actions matching a search term).
[Image: A white widget showing the list with actions from chosen lists or from search]
- **Small:** Single list or search result set.
- **Medium:** More actions with list/source context.
- **Large:** More space for actions and list titles.
- **Extra large:** Full list view with maximum capacity.
## Next Action widget
Stay focused by surfacing the very next action you need to do. Choose whether the next action comes from your **schedule** or a **specific list**. You'll see the action title, list name, priority, and subtask progress. Tap to complete or open the action. Use multiple instances side by side to track the next action for different lists.
[Image: A white widget showing the next action with title, list name, priority, subtask progress]
- **Small:** Next action with title, list name, priority, subtask progress.
- **Medium:** Same with more space for details.
- **Accessory rectangular / inline:** Lock Screen widget with next action: title, optional list name, subtask progress. Tap to open in the app.
## Quick Add widget

- **Accessory circular / rectangular / inline:** Lock Screen widget with icon and list name; tap to create an action for that list.
## Control Center widgets — _iOS 18+_
iOS 18 adds interactive Control Center widgets that live in Control Center rather than on the Home or Lock Screen.
- **Quick Add Button:** A single button to create a new action. Set a **specific list** or use the **schedule** as the default. Tapping opens the app to the action creation screen.

# How Smart Alerts work
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS · Updated 2026-08-21*
Learn what Timepage's five Smart Alerts do, from rain warnings and daily briefings to reminders to leave on time.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/timepage/what-are-smart-alerts/)
**Applies to:** Timepage on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
## Rain Alerts
Timepage will notify you of the potential of upcoming moderate or heavy rain. Rain Alerts give you the information you need to make decisions about the day - pack an umbrella, take the car instead of your bike, or cancel practice – no need to check another weather app.
Rain Alerts can be customized with a sensitivity of "Any rain," "Moderate rain," or "Only heavy rain" – and with different options to choose from for advanced notice, you can be prepared 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or one hour before the rain is supposed to begin.
The Rain Alerts screen also includes a "Severe weather alerts" toggle.
## Daily Briefing
The daily Briefing is your personal report of what the day has in store, including all the events you have coming up, and the day’s weather forecast.
You can choose if and when you receive a daily briefing. Once you’re in the Daily Briefing setting, choose the best time for you via the slider.
## Follow-Ups
When it’s time to follow up with a client or team member, Timepage can alert you with the Follow-Ups feature. Using Follow Ups is simple: enable it to receive a notification to follow up after an event that you’ve scheduled with another person.
In the Follow-Ups settings, you can have Timepage remind you one hour after an event or at a custom time daily, whichever makes more sense for you. You can customize this to your desired time.
## Time to Leave
When you add an event’s location, Timepage takes your current [location](/support/timepage/travel-and-directions/) and calculates when you should leave to make it on time. Time to Leave is a notification that lets you know when that time is – and, if you’d like, can notify you in advance so you have time to get ready before you take off.
Different travel methods require more or less preparation, so Time to Leave has default options for driving, biking, and walking. Time to Leave will adjust its time based on what mode you’ll be taking, ensuring that you leave with plenty of time, no matter how you get there.
Some of us may need more of a warning than others, which is why you have four advanced notice options: when you should leave, five minutes before leaving, 15 minutes before leaving, and 30 minutes before leaving. Of course, you can pick your favorite in the Time to Leave settings.
## Events
The basic form of notifications are found in Events, which notifies you when or before an event starts at its scheduled time. Events notifications can be set for:
- When event starts
- Five minutes before
- 10 minutes before
- 15 minutes before
- 30 minutes before
- One hour before
- Two hours before
- One day before
- One week before
For all-day events, Events notifications have the following options:
- None
- On day of event at 9 a.m.
- One day before at 9 a.m.
- Two days before at 9 a.m.
- One week before at 9 a.m.

# Set up your calendars
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS · Updated 2026-08-21*
How calendars work in Timepage, how to add a calendar account on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and how to choose which calendars show. The calendar-setup hub.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/timepage/setting-up-calendars/)
**Applies to:** Timepage on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch.
Timepage shows the calendars your device is signed in to — it doesn't store your events itself. So setting up your calendars is two steps: add a calendar account to your device, then choose which of its calendars to show in Timepage. Here's how it fits together, and how to do both.
## How calendars work in Timepage
1. **Your Bonobo account** stores things like your subscription, preferences, Actions, and Flow documents.
2. **Your calendar events live in your calendar accounts** — services like iCloud, Google, Microsoft Exchange, or Outlook that you've connected to your Apple device.
3. **Each account can contain several calendars** — for example an iCloud account with Home and Family calendars, plus a Google account with its own.
4. **Event syncing is automatic** — edit an event in Timepage and it syncs to every device connected to that account, and vice versa. Usually fast, occasionally a moment.
5. **Each device needs the same accounts set up** — to use Timepage across iPhone, iPad, and Mac, add the same calendar accounts on each.
6. **Timepage needs permission** to access your calendars, or it can't display your events.
In short: Timepage **doesn't** store your events (your calendar accounts do); Actions and Flow documents **do** live in your Bonobo account.
## Add a calendar account
**On iPhone or iPad:**
1. Go to **Settings > Apps > Calendar > Accounts > Add Account**.
2. Then either:
- **Choose a service** — tap iCloud, Google, Microsoft Exchange, and so on, and enter your details; or
- **Add a CalDAV account** — tap **Other > Add CalDAV Account** and enter your server and account details; or
- **Subscribe to an .ics calendar** — tap **Other > Add Subscribed Calendar** and enter the .ics URL.
If the account is already listed, check its **Calendars** toggle is on: tap the account and switch **Calendars** on.
**On Mac:** open **System Settings** (or **System Preferences** on macOS before Ventura) **> Internet Accounts**, then select an existing account and enable **Calendars**, or click **Add Account**, choose **Google, iCloud, Exchange, Outlook, or Other**, sign in, and enable **Calendars**.
**On Apple Watch:** no separate setup — your Watch shows whatever is set up on your iPhone.
## Choose which calendars show
Once your accounts are on the device, Timepage can list their calendars.
**On iPhone or iPad:** open the **Menu > Calendars > Setup Calendars** and tap a calendar name to show (tick) or hide (untick). Only ticked calendars show their events.
**On Mac:** open **Settings > Calendars** and tick each calendar you want to show.
**Default calendar:** tap **Default Calendar** to choose where new events save (visible calendars only).
## Hide duplicate birthdays
If the same birthday appears in more than one calendar, tell Timepage what your birthday calendars are called so it can hide the duplicates. Go to **Menu > Calendars > Birthday Calendars** and tap the default word "Birthdays" to change it (for example, to "Bdays").
## Connecting a specific service
For step-by-step setup of a particular provider, see [Sync Timepage with Google Calendar](/support/timepage/google-calendar-integration/), [Sync Timepage with Outlook](/support/timepage/outlook-integration/), or [Connect an Exchange calendar](/support/timepage/exchange-integration/).

# Share a calendar
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS · Updated 2026-08-21*
Calendar sharing happens in your calendar service, not Timepage. How to share an iCloud, Google, or Outlook calendar so it appears for everyone in Timepage.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/timepage/sharing-calendars/)
**Applies to:** Timepage on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Calendar sharing is handled by your calendar service — iCloud, Google, or Outlook — not by Timepage. You share a calendar in that service, and once it's shared it appears in Timepage for everyone who has it. If you're not sure which service a calendar uses, check **Settings > Apps > Calendar > Accounts** on your device. (Setting up a calendar for the first time? See [Set up your calendars](/support/timepage/setting-up-calendars/).)
## Apple / iCloud calendars
1. Open the Apple **Calendar** app.
2. Tap **Calendars** at the bottom of the screen.
3. Find the calendar you want to share (or scroll to **Add Calendar** to make one).
4. Tap the **i** next to the calendar, go to **Shared with**, and tap **Add Person** to choose who to share with.
Back in Timepage you'll see the calendar's events, and you and the people you shared with can add, edit, and delete events.
## Google calendars
Share from Google Calendar on the web — see [How to share your Google calendar](https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/37082?hl=en). The shared calendar syncs to your device and then appears in Timepage.
## Outlook / Exchange calendars
Share from Outlook on the web or desktop — see [Share an Outlook calendar](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/share-an-outlook-calendar-as-view-only-with-others-353ed2c1-3ec5-449d-8c73-6931a0adab88). The shared calendar syncs to your device and then appears in Timepage.
## Good to know
You can only share a calendar **within the same service** — an iCloud calendar with another iCloud user, a Google calendar with another Google user, and so on. The **permission level** (view-only, edit, or manage) is set in the calendar service too, not in Timepage. Once a calendar is shared, make sure it's enabled in your device's calendar settings and ticked in **Menu > Calendars > Setup Calendars** so it shows in Timepage.

# Use multiple calendars
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS · Updated 2026-08-21*
Combine calendars from iCloud, Google, Outlook, and Exchange in Timepage — show, hide, and colour them, condense them on Mac, and peek in the Heat Map.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/timepage/utilizing-multiple-calendars/)
**Applies to:** Timepage on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Once you've added your calendar accounts to your device (see [Set up your calendars](/support/timepage/setting-up-calendars/)), Timepage shows all of them together in one view. Any calendar you've added on your device — iCloud, Google, Outlook, Exchange, or CalDAV — is available in Timepage. This page covers organizing several calendars at once.
## Show, hide, and colour your calendars
Open **Menu > Calendars > Setup Calendars** (or **Settings > Calendars** on Mac) to tick the calendars you want to see — hiding a calendar here doesn't add or delete it from your device, it just hides it in Timepage. Tap **Default Calendar** to choose where new events save. To recolour a calendar, tap the coloured circle beside it, pick a colour, and confirm with the tick; **Match to Timepage colours** snaps an externally-set colour to the closest Timepage one.
To remove a calendar from Timepage entirely, touch and hold it in Setup Calendars — again, this hides it from Timepage without deleting it from your device.
## Condensed events (Mac)
On Mac you can show certain calendars in a condensed form to cut clutter — useful for shared, colleagues', or birthday calendars. Condensed events appear as coloured rectangles; hover to see more. In **Settings**, set **Event visibility** per calendar:
- **Condense scheduled events** — condenses any event with a set time.
- **Condense all-day events** — condenses all-day events.
## Calendars in the Heat Map
The [Heat Map](/support/timepage/navigating-heat-map/) shows your busiest days across all calendars, shading busier days more strongly. To peek at one calendar at a time, press and hold the heatmap button at the bottom of the screen and swipe left and right to move between your calendars; let go to return to all calendars together. The events for the selected day appear below the Heat Map.

# Connect an Exchange calendar
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS · Updated 2026-08-21*
Add your Exchange Server account to your device with the settings from IT, then turn its calendars on in Timepage. Enterprise setup and troubleshooting.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/timepage/exchange-integration/)
**Applies to:** Timepage on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Timepage doesn't connect to Exchange directly — it shows the calendars your **device** is signed in to. So connecting an Exchange calendar is two steps: add your Exchange account to your device, then turn its calendars on in Timepage. Because Exchange is usually a corporate system, you may need some settings from your IT administrator first. (Outlook 365 runs on Exchange, so it follows this guide; a personal Outlook.com account uses [Sync Timepage with Outlook](/support/timepage/outlook-integration/).)
## Before you start
From your IT administrator, you may need:
- **Server address** — your Exchange server URL.
- **Domain** — your company domain, if required.
- **Username** — usually your full email address.
- **Password** — your Exchange password.
- **Security requirements** — any certificates or device-compliance settings.
## Add your Exchange account to your device
**On iPhone or iPad:**
1. Open **Settings > Apps > Calendar > Calendar Accounts**.
2. Tap **Add Account**, then select **Microsoft Exchange**.
3. Enter your email address and follow the prompts to sign in (you may need to tap **Open Browser**, or enter the server details above if your organization requires manual setup).
4. Make sure **Calendars** is turned on for the account, then tap **Save**.
**On Mac:**
1. Open **System Settings > Internet Accounts**.
2. Click **Add Account** and choose **Microsoft Exchange**.
3. Sign in with your credentials (or the server details from IT).
4. Turn on **Calendars** in the account settings, then click **Done**.
## Turn your Exchange calendars on in Timepage
**On iPhone or iPad:** open the **Menu > Calendars > Setup Calendars**, find your Exchange calendars, and enable the ones you want to see.
**On Mac:** open **Settings > Calendars** and tick each calendar you want to show.
You can then tap **Default Calendar** to choose where new events save, and tap the coloured circle beside a calendar to recolour it.
## What syncs
Changes sync both ways and are usually near-instant. Recurring meetings sync, you can accept or decline invitations and see meeting responses from Timepage, and calendars you have **delegate access** to appear once that access is set in Outlook. Free/busy and out-of-office information follow your Exchange settings. To use more than one Exchange account, add each to your device and enable its calendars in Timepage.
## Troubleshooting
**Can't authenticate with the server**
Verify the server settings with your IT administrator, check your username format (often the full email address), confirm your password isn't expired, and check whether two-factor authentication or account lockout is involved.
**Calendar isn't syncing**
Check your internet connection, confirm the account is configured in your device settings with **Calendars** on and enabled in **Menu > Calendars > Setup Calendars**, and check whether your organization restricts sync. Signing out and back in can help.
**Changes are slow to appear**
Check **Settings > Apps > Calendar > Calendar Accounts > Fetch New Data**. Turn on **Push** where available; many Exchange configurations only allow **Fetch**, so set the schedule. Your organization may also apply server-side sync policies.
**Certificate or security warnings**
Install any certificates from your IT department, make sure your device meets the security requirements, and update to the latest iOS or macOS.
**"Access denied" or permission errors**
Timepage needs calendar permission on each device — your data stays with your Exchange provider; the permission is only so Timepage can display events on-device.
- **iPhone/iPad:** **Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars**, tap **Timepage**, choose **Full Access**.
- **Mac:** **System Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars**, enable **Timepage** (if set to Add Only, open Options and choose **Full Access**).
For enterprise-specific issues, your IT administrator is the fastest route.

# Sync Timepage with Google Calendar
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS · Updated 2026-09-18*
Add your Google account to your device, then turn its calendars on in Timepage. Setup for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, plus fixes for common Google sync issues.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/timepage/google-calendar-integration/)
**Applies to:** Timepage on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Timepage doesn't connect to Google directly — it shows the calendars your **device** is signed in to. So syncing Google Calendar with Timepage is two steps: add your Google account to your device, then turn its calendars on in Timepage. Your Google data stays with Google; Timepage just displays it on your device.
## Add your Google account to your device
**On iPhone or iPad:**
1. Open **Settings > Apps > Calendar > Calendar Accounts**.
2. Tap **Add Account**, then select **Google**.
3. If prompted, tap **Open Browser** to sign in.
4. Follow the prompts to sign in and allow access to your calendar.
5. Make sure **Calendars** is turned on for the account, then tap **Save**.
**On Mac:**
1. Open **System Settings > Internet Accounts**.
2. Click **Add Account** and choose **Google**.
3. Sign in with your Google credentials.
4. Turn on **Calendars** in the account settings, then click **Done**.
## Turn your Google calendars on in Timepage
Once the account is on your device, Timepage can see its calendars.
**On iPhone or iPad:** open the **Menu > Calendars > Setup Calendars**, find your Google calendars, and enable the ones you want to see.
**On Mac:** open **Settings > Calendars** and tick each calendar you want to show.
## Set a default calendar and colours
Tap **Default Calendar** to pick which calendar new events save to (you can only choose from visible calendars). To recolour a calendar, tap the coloured circle next to its name, choose from a palette (Mono, Vivid, Pastel, Muted, Dark, Neon), and confirm with the tick. Turn on **Match to Timepage colours** to snap a calendar's existing colour to the closest Timepage colour.
## What syncs
Changes sync both ways and are usually near-instant: create or edit an event in either Timepage or Google and it appears in the other. Recurring events, descriptions, locations, and attendees all sync. Calendars shared with you in Google, holiday calendars, and any calendars you've made appear too, and Timepage respects Google's sharing permissions.
To use **multiple Google accounts**, add each one to your device, then enable its calendars (and set colours) in Timepage. To **share a calendar**, do it from Google Calendar on the web — shared calendars sync down to your device and then appear in Timepage.
## Troubleshooting
**Google calendars don't appear in Timepage**
1. Confirm the Google account is added in your device settings and that **Calendars** is on for it.
2. Make sure the calendar is enabled in **Menu > Calendars > Setup Calendars**.
3. Check Timepage has calendar permission (see below).
4. If it still doesn't show, remove and re-add the Google account in device settings.
**Some Google calendars are missing (secondary or subscribed calendars)**
If your main Google calendar syncs but others don't — secondary calendars, or calendars you've subscribed to — they may not be switched on for sync at Google's end. iOS and macOS only fetch the Google calendars you've chosen to make available to other apps, so a calendar can be missing from Timepage even though the account is added correctly.
To fix this, open Google's calendar sync settings in a browser and tick the calendars you want to see:
[calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0/syncselect](https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0/syncselect)
Once they're enabled there, they'll show up in **Menu > Calendars > Setup Calendars** in Timepage, where you can switch on the ones you want.
**Events aren't syncing**
Check your internet connection and that you're signed in, then check how often your device fetches data: **Settings > Apps > Calendar > Calendar Accounts > Fetch New Data**. Turn on **Push** where it's available (fastest); for accounts that only support Fetch, set the schedule. Restarting Timepage can also help.
**Some events are missing**
Confirm the calendar is enabled in Setup Calendars and isn't hidden, that you're looking in the right date range, and — for a shared calendar — that you've accepted the invitation in Google.
**Events appear more than once**
Usually this means the same calendar is subscribed twice — check for duplicate calendar accounts in your device settings and your sharing settings in Google Calendar.
**Timepage can't see your calendars at all (permission)**
Timepage needs calendar permission on each device. Your calendar data stays with your provider (Google) — this permission is only so Timepage can display events on-device; nothing is sent to our servers.
- **iPhone/iPad:** **Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars**, tap **Timepage**, and choose **Full Access**.
- **Mac:** **System Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars**, enable **Timepage**; if it's set to Add Only, open Options and choose **Full Access**.

# Sync Timepage with Outlook
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS · Updated 2026-08-21*
Add your Outlook 365 or Outlook.com account to your device, then turn its calendars on in Timepage. Setup for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, plus sync fixes.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/timepage/outlook-integration/)
**Applies to:** Timepage on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Timepage doesn't connect to Outlook directly — it shows the calendars your **device** is signed in to. So syncing Outlook with Timepage is two steps: add your Outlook account to your device, then turn its calendars on in Timepage. This works for Outlook 365 and Outlook.com; for a corporate Exchange Server account, see [Connect an Exchange calendar](/support/timepage/exchange-integration/).
## Add your Outlook account to your device
**On iPhone or iPad:**
1. Open **Settings > Apps > Calendar > Calendar Accounts**.
2. Tap **Add Account**, then select **Outlook.com** (or **Microsoft Exchange** for a work/365 account).
2. Click **Add Account** and choose **Microsoft Exchange** (or **Outlook.com**).
3. Sign in with your credentials.
4. Turn on **Calendars** in the account settings, then click **Done**.
## Turn your Outlook calendars on in Timepage
**On iPhone or iPad:** open the **Menu > Calendars > Setup Calendars**, find your Outlook calendars, and enable the ones you want to see.
**On Mac:** open **Settings > Calendars** and tick each calendar you want to show.
## Set a default calendar and colours
Tap **Default Calendar** to pick which calendar new events save to (visible calendars only). To recolour a calendar, tap the coloured circle next to its name, choose a palette (Mono, Vivid, Pastel, Muted, Dark, Neon), and confirm with the tick. **Match to Timepage colours** snaps a calendar's existing colour to the closest Timepage one.
## What syncs
Changes sync both ways and are usually near-instant: create or edit an event in Timepage or Outlook and it appears in the other. Recurring meetings sync, you can accept or decline invitations from Timepage, and shared or team calendars you have access to in Outlook appear too, with Timepage respecting Outlook's permissions. To use both personal and work accounts, add each to your device and enable its calendars in Timepage.
## Troubleshooting
**Outlook calendars don't appear / aren't syncing**
1. Check your internet connection and that the Outlook account is set up in your device settings with **Calendars** turned on.
2. Make sure the calendar is enabled in **Menu > Calendars > Setup Calendars**.
3. Confirm Timepage has calendar permission (below).
4. Sign out and back in to the account, and check whether your organization restricts calendar sync.
**Changes are slow to appear**
Check **Settings > Apps > Calendar > Calendar Accounts > Fetch New Data**. Turn on **Push** where available; some Outlook/Exchange configurations only allow **Fetch**, so set the schedule there. Restarting Timepage can help.
**Events missing or duplicated**
Confirm calendar visibility in Setup Calendars, check you aren't subscribed to the same calendar twice, and review calendar visibility in Outlook on the web.
**"Access denied" or permission errors**
Timepage needs calendar permission on each device — your data stays with Outlook; the permission is only so Timepage can display events on-device.
- **iPhone/iPad:** **Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars**, tap **Timepage**, choose **Full Access**.
- **Mac:** **System Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars**, enable **Timepage** (if set to Add Only, open Options and choose **Full Access**).
If you're on a corporate account, your IT administrator may need to allow calendar access.

# Add an event
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS · Updated 2026-08-21*
Add an event anywhere you see the + button in Timepage — on the Timeline, Heat Map, or Day View, or from the Add New Event widget.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/timepage/how-to-add-an-event/)
**Applies to:** Timepage on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
You can add an event anywhere you see the **+** button. Wherever you start, it opens the New Event screen — here's where to find it on each screen.
## On the Timeline or Heat Map
Tap the floating **+** button at the bottom right to open the New Event screen, set to today. You can also drag the **+** onto any day on the Timeline to create an event on that day.
## In Day View
Tap the floating **+** button, or pull down on the screen.
## From the Add New Event widget
Add the Add New Event widget to your Home Screen for a one-tap shortcut straight to a new event — see [Timepage Widgets](/support/timepage/timepage-widgets/).
Once the New Event screen is open, enter a title and time. To add people, a location, notes, reminders, or repeats, see [Add details to an event](/support/timepage/adding-additional-details-to-events/).

# Add details to an event
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS · Updated 2026-09-18*
Add people, locations, notes, reminders, and repeats to your Timepage events to capture every detail that matters.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/timepage/adding-additional-details-to-events/)
**Applies to:** Timepage on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Events can display people, location, notes, and more
## People and Places
You can quickly add people and location when you're typing in the event title, or after you've entered the title and the full event screen is shown.
1. [Add an event](/support/timepage/how-to-add-an-event/) either in [Day View](/support/timepage/navigating-day-view/) or [Heat Map](/support/timepage/navigating-heat-map/)
2. Type the activity (Dinner, Workout, etc.)
3. Type a name
1. If the person added is in your contacts, Timepage will display their information
2. If the person added is not in your contacts, the title will simply display their name
4. If there is a location set for the event, start typing it and select from the locations displayed.
## Location
You can give an event a location in two ways:
- **A street address** — start typing and choose a result from the search suggestions (for example *Sydney Opera House* or a full street address). A recognised address lets Timepage show [travel times and directions](/support/timepage/travel-and-directions/) to the event. To use exactly what you typed rather than a search result, choose **As entered**.
- **A custom location** — for places that aren't a street address, tap **Custom location** and enter your own text, such as *Classroom 3*, *Skype*, or *8th Floor*. This is handy for online meetings and informal places; custom locations don't provide travel times.
Locations you've used before appear as recent suggestions the next time you add one.
## Notes
Notes can be any useful info you want to type in about the event.
## Reminders
To set up a reminder, tap into an event and scroll to the Reminders header. You can be reminded at any or all of the following options:
- One week before
- One day before
- Two hours before

If you have reminders set for events but aren’t receiving them, the most likely reason is Notifications are turned off in your iPhone preferences. You can fix this by turning them back on:
- Go to your iPhone Settings app.
- Select Notifications > Timepage.
- Ensure “Allow Notifications” is turned on.
- Ensure the other options are turned on and the alert style is “Banners” or “Alerts".
It is also important to make sure that "Background App Refresh" is enabled for Timepage. Timepage needs to be able to occasionally check for updated events and reschedule notifications accordingly:
- Go to your iPhone Settings app.
- Select General > Background App Refresh.
- Ensure "Background App Refresh" is enabled at the top of the screen.
- Ensure it is also enabled for Timepage specifically.
## Repeats
Repeating events are perfect for lots of activities – consistent meetings, weekly practices, starting new habits, and more. Instead of having to add a new item for everything in your calendar, repeats allow you to carry over information every time the activity is scheduled. Like the options above, repeats can be found while viewing an event. Near the bottom of the list is the Repeats header – tap it to create a repeat.
Repeats in Timepage can be as simple or as complex as you need. For example, if you want an event to repeat every day, just tap "Daily," choose the one day interval, and select an end date. For the more infrequent or inconsistent events, you can make the necessary adjustments for a different time scale. Here are the various repeat options:
- Frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly)
- Repeat interval (examples: 1 day, 2 weeks repeating on Sunday, 3 months repeating every 4th Thursday, 4 years)
- End (never, after a number of times, or on a specific date)
## Edit or delete a recurring event
To change or remove a repeating event, open any occurrence in the series first.
**To delete a recurring event:**
1. Open one of the events in the series.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the event details and tap the trash can icon.
3. Choose to delete the **entire series** (all occurrences) — or, if you only want to remove that one date, choose to delete just the single event.
You can also press and hold the event on the [Day view](/support/timepage/navigating-day-view/) screen, tap **Delete** in the menu, and then choose to delete all occurrences.
If a recurring event won't delete, it's usually because it lives on a **subscribed** or otherwise **read-only** calendar — those events can only be changed by the calendar's owner. Open the event and check the calendar name; if it's a subscribed calendar, you'll need to edit or remove it from the source rather than in Timepage.

# Timepage on Apple Watch
*Applies to: iOS, watchOS · Updated 2026-08-21*
Install Timepage on your Apple Watch to see your day and next events from your wrist, and add Timepage complications to your watch face.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/timepage/how-to-use-timepage-for-apple-watch/)
**Applies to:** Timepage for Apple Watch, paired with an iPhone.
Timepage has an Apple Watch app that shows your day and next events on your wrist, plus complications you can add to a watch face. It installs alongside the iPhone app — here's how to set it up and what it shows.
## Add Timepage to your Apple Watch
Apple Watch apps install automatically if you have **Automatic App Install** turned on in the Watch app.
If you don't, you can install it by hand: open the **Watch** app on your paired iPhone, and under **My Watch** scroll to the list of available apps at the bottom. Find **Timepage**, tap **Install**, and it'll be added to your Apple Watch.
## Using Timepage on your wrist
Timepage shows a week, one day per screen — swipe left and right to move between days. Along the top you'll see the date, weekday, and weather.
Tap an event to see its weather and travel time. If the event has a location, swipe right to left to see it on a map; tap the map to open Apple Maps for directions.
## Complications
Complications let you put Timepage information straight on your watch face. Timepage offers the following, and each is available across a range of watch-face styles (Modular, Utilitarian, Circular, and the Graphic/Infograph faces):
- **Date** — today's date.
- **Next event** — details of your next event today.
- **Travel time** — travel time to your next event.
- **Precipitation** — today's chance of rain.
- **Weather** — current conditions.
- **App icon** — a quick launch to open Timepage.
To add one, touch and hold your watch face, tap **Edit**, swipe to the complications screen, tap a complication slot, and choose Timepage.

Timepage offers a wide range of home-screen and lock-screen widgets — from your full day to a single countdown — and you can size and style each one to match your setup. This page lists every Timepage widget and its options; for the general steps to add, edit, or stack a widget on your device, see [how to add and edit widgets](/support/account/adding-and-editing-widgets/).
You can choose from different sizes, and colours can either match your app theme or be set for each widget individually.
## Getting started
1. Ensure you have updated your devices to the latest operating system by following the Apple instructions [here.](https://support.apple.com/ios/update)

# Events aren't syncing between your devices
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS · Updated 2026-08-21*
If Timepage shows different events on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac, match your calendar accounts, visible calendars, and Fetch settings on each device.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/timepage/troubleshooting-sync-between-devices/)
**Applies to:** Timepage on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
If Timepage shows different events on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, the devices aren't set up with the same calendars. Timepage doesn't store your events itself — it displays whatever your device's **calendar accounts** provide, so the fix is to make those accounts, and the calendars they show, match on every device. Work through the checks below in order.
## What a calendar account is
A calendar account is a service your device signs in to for its calendars — iCloud, Google, Outlook, Exchange, or similar. A single account can hold several calendars (for example, separate "Work" and "Personal" calendars under one Google account). Timepage reads these accounts through your device rather than connecting to them directly, so an account has to be present and switched on for a device before any of its events can show up in Timepage there.
## Match your calendar accounts on every device
If you use more than one device — say an iPhone and an iPad — each one needs an identical set of calendar accounts. If your Google account is set up on your iPhone but not your iPad, its events won't appear on the iPad.
The easiest way to check is to open **Settings > Apps > Calendar > Calendar Accounts** on all of your devices side by side and confirm they match. Tap each account you want to use and make sure **Calendars** is turned on.
If a device is missing an account, tap **Add Account** in Calendar Accounts settings and add it. Then confirm the same accounts — iCloud, Google, and any others you use — are listed and enabled on every device.
## Match your visible calendars
Once your accounts are identical, check that the same calendars are set to visible on each device. A calendar that's hidden on one device but shown on another is the most common reason events look "missing."
Put your devices next to each other and open **Timepage > Menu > Calendars > Setup Calendars** on each. Make sure the list of ticked (visible) calendars is the same everywhere.
## Give it time to sync
Timepage syncs your data as often as your device does. iCloud and Google are usually near-instant; Exchange and some other services can take a few minutes, so if your devices fetch on different schedules it may take a little while for everything to match.
Here's how to check or speed up how often a device fetches new data:
1. On your iPhone or iPad, go to **Settings > Apps > Calendar > Calendar Accounts > Fetch New Data**.
2. Where it's available, turn on **Push** — it's the fastest, and services like iCloud and Gmail support it.
3. Set the **Fetch** schedule for accounts that don't support Push. Some Outlook and Exchange setups only allow Fetch, and the device will then check for updates at the interval you choose.
## Check the Apple Calendar app
Timepage relies on Apple's calendar system rather than talking to your accounts directly, so if something is wrong upstream it shows up in Timepage too. Open the built-in **Calendar** app on both devices and confirm the events appear there. If they're missing from Apple's Calendar app as well, the problem is with the calendar provider (iCloud, Google, Exchange, and so on), not Timepage.
## Still stuck?
If you've worked through every step and events still differ, email us at [timepage@bonobolabs.com](mailto:timepage@bonobolabs.com). Screenshots from both devices help us most, specifically:
- **Settings > Apps > Calendar > Calendar Accounts** on both devices
- **Timepage > Menu > Calendars > Setup Calendars** on both devices

# Weather isn't showing on the timeline
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS · Updated 2026-08-26*
Fix weather that won't appear or stay updated in Timepage, from Location Services to WeatherKit and app updates.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/timepage/weather-troubleshooting/)
**Applies to:** Timepage on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
## Apple Weather (WeatherKit)
Timepage now uses Apple Weather (WeatherKit) to provide weather data.
We **strongly recommend** that you update to the latest version of Timepage from the App Store to ensure you continue to get weather information.
For more about the weather update, see the [Timepage 4.9 release notes](/whatsnew/en/timepage/4.9/).
If you encounter issues with weather, first _check you are using the most recent version of Timepage_ from the App Store. Once you've done that, here are some other things you can try:
## Weather not appearing on the Timeline
If you are not seeing weather data in the Timeline, there are several things to check:
### Location Services are not Available
Make sure that **Location Services** are enabled for Timepage in your device settings.
1. Open the **Settings** app on your device.
2. Tap the **Apps** category.
3. Tap **Timepage**.
4. Tap **Location Services**.
5. Ensure that **Location Services** is turned on (either **Always** or **When Using the App**).
### Weather Service may be Temporarily Unavailable
The weather service is **temporarily unavailable**, or you are in a **region with limited forecast information**. You may experience the following:
- "No forecast available." message in the Timeline
- Weather data (either on the Timeline, or on the Day View) not appearing
You can test to see whether other locations are available by changing the location in the Weather preferences.
1. Open the Timepage app.
2. Tap the **Menu** button in the top left corner of the screen.
3. Tap **Preferences**.
4. Tap **Weather**.
5. Tap **Weather Location**.
6. Search for, or select a location from the list of available locations.
7. Tap **The location that you want to use**.
You may also need to update Timepage to the latest version from the App Store to resolve this issue.
For more about the weather update, see the [Timepage 4.9 release notes](/whatsnew/en/timepage/4.9/).
### The Date Is Too Far in the Future
Weather forecasts only reach about two weeks ahead. A date more than roughly two weeks in the future won't show weather on the Timeline or in Day View — this is expected, not a fault. The forecast appears for that day once it comes within range as it gets closer.
### Located in a Weather Service Region with Limited Forecast Information
If you are in a region that may have limited forecast information, you can potentially resolve this by explicitly setting a location in Timepage's **Weather** prefernces:
1. Open the Timepage app.
2. Tap the **Menu** button in the top left corner of the screen.
3. Tap **Preferences**.
4. Tap **Weather**.
5. Tap **Weather Location**.
6. Search for, or select a location from the list of available locations.
7. Tap **The location that you want to use**.
### Older Version of Timepage
Timepage now uses Apple Weather (WeatherKit) to provide weather data. If you're using an older version of Timepage, you may need to update to the latest version from the App Store to resolve this issue.
For more about the weather update, see the [Timepage 4.9 release notes](/whatsnew/en/timepage/4.9/).
### Stale, or no weather data appears in the full weather view
If weather has been synchronised from the weather service, but is not appearing to update after a period of time, or information in the full weather view is not updated, you may need to clear the weather cache:
1. Open the Timepage app.
2. Tap the **Menu** button in the top left corner of the screen.
3. Tap **Preferences**.
4. Tap **Weather**.
5. Tap **Clear Weather Cache**.
6. Tap **Clear Cache**.

# Can't change which calendar an event is on
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS · Updated 2026-08-21*
iOS 18.4 blocked moving events between calendars. Update to 18.5. Recurring events and events with attendees can still fail; recreate or duplicate them.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/timepage/issues-changing-calendars/)
**Applies to:** Timepage on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
If changing which calendar an event belongs to fails, first update to **iOS 18.5** — Apple shipped a bug in 18.4 that blocked this. If the move still fails afterwards, the event most likely repeats or has attendees, which the calendar service itself refuses to move; recreate or duplicate it using the steps below.
## Update to iOS 18.5
In iOS 18.4, Apple introduced a bug that affected editing calendar events in Timepage, particularly when changing which calendar an event is saved to (for example, from iCloud to Google, or between Google accounts). Apple fixed this in **iOS 18.5**. Update your devices to 18.5 or later, and make sure Timepage has the most recent update from the App Store — that resolves it in most cases.
## "Failed to change calendar" for recurring events or events with attendees
Even under normal conditions, moving an event between calendar services (iCloud, Google, Exchange) can fail when:
- the event is recurring, or
- the event includes attendees.
These are limitations imposed by the calendar services themselves, not by Timepage, so the app can't override them. You can still get the event onto the calendar you want with one of the workarounds below.
### Workaround
There are two ways around this. The first is to recreate the event on the calendar you want:
1. Create a new event on the correct calendar.
2. Re-add any recurrence rules or attendees.
3. Delete the original event from the old calendar.
Alternatively, duplicate the original event — duplicating drops the attendees and repeats, which is what lets it move:
1. Long-press the event on the Day screen and choose **Duplicate**. This creates a copy without attendees or repeats.
2. In the duplicate, choose the destination calendar, then add back any repeats or attendees you need.
3. Delete the original event if you no longer need it.

# Stop spam events in your calendar
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS · Updated 2026-08-21*
Spam events in Timepage come from your calendar account, not Timepage. Set your calendar service to only accept invites from known senders to stop them.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/timepage/stop-calendar-spam/)
**Applies to:** Timepage on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
If you see fake webinar invites, "prize" notifications, or other junk events in Timepage, the spam isn't coming from Timepage — it's in your calendar account. Timepage displays whatever's in the accounts you've connected (Google, Outlook, iCloud), so anything added there shows up here too. The fix is a setting in your **calendar service**: only accept invitations from people you know. Change it there and the spam stops in Timepage and every other calendar app, usually in a couple of minutes.
## Why spam events appear
Some calendar services automatically add event invitations from email to your calendar — even ones that landed in your spam folder. It was meant to be a convenience, but spammers abuse it. Because Timepage reads from your calendar accounts, those events appear alongside your real ones. Fixing it at the source clears it everywhere.
## Stop new spam
The main change is the same everywhere: accept invites only from known senders.
### Google Calendar
**In a browser:** open Google Calendar, go to **Settings > Event settings > Add invitations to my calendar**, and change it from "From everyone" to **"Only if the sender is known"** (or "When I respond to the invitation email"). While you're there, you can uncheck **"Show events automatically created by Gmail."**
**On iPhone or iPad:** go to **Settings > Calendar > Accounts**, tap your **Google** account, then **Sync > Events**, and under **Add invitations** choose **"Only if the sender is known."**
### Outlook
Open Outlook, go to **File > Options > Calendar**, and under **Automatic accept/decline** disable automatically adding events from email. When you delete a suspicious invite, use **"Do not send a response"** so you don't confirm your address is active.
### Apple Calendar (iCloud)
Apple Calendar doesn't auto-add email invites the way Google does, but check for unwanted subscribed calendars:
- **On iPhone or iPad:** **Settings > Calendar > Accounts > Subscribed Calendars**, then delete any you don't recognize.
- **On Mac:** **System Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars** lets you control which apps can access your calendars.
## Remove the spam events you already have
- **Google Calendar:** open the event, choose **More actions** (the three-dot menu), then **Report as spam**.
- **Outlook:** report the sender as junk, then delete the event without clicking any links or attachments (use "Do not send a response").
- **Check for subscribed or additional calendars** in your calendar service and unsubscribe from any you don't recognize — this stops attackers adding more events.
If events keep coming back after you delete them, it's syncing: remove them from your calendar service, then from each device, and finally from any subscribed calendars. It also helps to give your trusted calendars distinct colours in Timepage, so anything suspicious stands out.
## Secure your calendar account
Because Timepage syncs your calendar accounts, keeping those accounts secure protects your Timepage data too:
- **Turn on multi-factor authentication** on your Google, Microsoft, or Apple account.
- **Use a strong, unique password** you don't reuse elsewhere.
- **Review third-party app access** and remove anything you don't recognize — Google Account > Security > Third-party apps; your Microsoft account's app permissions; or **System Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars** on a Mac.
For the setting Google recommends, see [Google's help article on adding invitations from known senders](https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/13155911).

# About Flow
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, Web · Updated 2026-08-13*
Get started with Flow, the digital notebook for drawing, writing, and sketching as fast as you can think on iPhone and iPad.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/flow/flow-overview/)
[Image: Flow on an iPhone and iPad]
Flow is a whole new take on the digital notebook, designed to get ideas out of your head by making it simple to draw, write and sketch as fast as you can think. Flow is designed and built by the same team behind [Timepage](/support/timepage) and [Actions](/support/actions), with the same obsessive attention to detail, bold aesthetic and playful spirit.
With infinite width or height documents, you're always just a swipe away from more space to continue drawing and writing. Flow's powerful drawing engine enables you to draw with realistic ink and pencil tools.
Flow safely stores your documents in the cloud and automatically keeps them in sync across your devices. Documents can be organized by using drag and drop to put them in Collections. Exporting a document has options for how the infinite document will be divided into pages and transparency. On iPad, you can simply drag and drop to export drawings directly to another app, including Timepage.
## Flow on the web
Flow on the web at [flowapp.bonobolabs.com](https://flowapp.bonobolabs.com) lets you view and organize your documents from any browser — browse your Collections and open any canvas once you've turned on syncing (Preferences → General → Sync with Flow web viewer). Drawing and editing stay in the iPhone and iPad app; the web is for viewing and organizing. See [Flow web viewer](/support/flow/flow-web-viewer/) for details.
## Part of Your Productivity Suite
Flow works seamlessly with other Bonobo apps:
- **[Timepage](/timepage)** - Export sketches and notes directly to calendar events
- **[Actions](/actions)** - Visualize task plans and project ideas
- **[Overlap](/overlap)** - Collaborate across time zones with global teams (free!)
- **[Get the Bundle](/bundle)** - Save 40% when you get all three premium apps (Actions, Timepage, and Flow) together
One of the best things about drawing on paper is the ease of swapping between your drawing tools; simply pick them up without breaking your flow. The customizable Tool Dock recreates this experience: create, select, and rearrange as many drawing tools as you want. Each tool remembers its color, style and weight.
With Apple Pencil, Flow brings the closest thing to a physical writing tool to your iPad. Ultra-low latency, with tilt and pressure support makes fountain pens, pencils and brushes look and feel realistic.

# Documents
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-13*
Find your way around a Flow document — the canvas you write and draw on — including panning, zooming, and backgrounds.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/flow/documents/)
[Image: Annotated diagram of the document view in Flow]
Documents are the virtual paper you write and draw on. In Flow, you always have a document open on the main screen of the app. It moves to the side when you open Collections, where you can change which document you have open.
## Orientation
When you create a new document in Flow, you will be presented with the option to make it horizontal or vertical (landscape or portrait). Choosing the orientation determines which way your document scrolls on the screen.
> Important: once a document orientation is selected, it cannot be changed.
## Size
Documents in Flow are not limited to being a single page; instead, they span horizontally or vertically as far as you want them to go like an infinite notebook. Because they seamlessly expand as you pan, it helps you stay in the zone when you are drawing and writing. A new blank page is always just a swipe away.
## Panning
Pan your document by using two fingers. You can set up gestures for panning in the [preferences menu](/support/flow/preferences/).
## The Scrubber
When you pan your document, a preview of the document pops up on screen called the scrubber. When the scrubber is on the screen, you can grab it with your finger and scrub to quickly move through your whole document. The scrubber automatically changes in size to fit in everything you’ve drawn as you pan further in a document.
## Zooming
You can zoom in and out on your document by pinching or double-tapping with one finger. When you are zoomed in, the scrubber will display on the screen to show the area of the document you are zoomed in on. You can tap or draw to dismiss it and it will reappear when you zoom out again.
If you zoom out beyond the size of the screen, you can return to actual size by zooming in to near the screen size and it will automatically snap into place. You can also tap the reset zoom button at the top of the screen.
When you are zoomed in, you can pan the document to position the edges in the middle of the screen, which can be more comfortable to work on.
## Fullscreen
You can hide the interface on the document screen and go fullscreen to give yourself more space to draw. The fullscreen button is at the top of the screen. By default, the 3 finger tap gesture will activate and cancel fullscreen mode. Check out the gesture settings in [preferences](/support/flow/preferences/) to customize what shortcuts you can use when the interface is hidden.
## Gestures
On the gesture preferences screen, you can configure a number of options to suit how you like to use Flow. If you have an Apple Pencil, you can choose what happens when you draw with your finger. With Apple Pencil 2, you can choose what double tapping it does.
## Undo and Redo
Tap the arrows at the top of the screen to undo and redo your actions. You can configure gestures to undo and redo on the gesture preferences screen from the main menu.
## Exporting
Documents can be exported in various sizes to the apps and services of your choice. This is done at the top of the screen. [Read more about exporting](/support/flow/exporting/).
## Background Options
Tap the Background Options button at the top of the screen to change the appearance of the document.
### Pattern
Choose from a blank, dotted, grid, lined or isometric background pattern. Your drawing will always appear on top of the background patterns, and you can change the patterns at any time.
You can choose either small or large pattern size, and adjust the opacity from five presets.
### Color
You can choose a background color from the range of paper colors. Note that existing drawings on your document may appear different when you change colors.
### Page Lines
Choose to show or hide lines indicating the pages the document will be sliced into when exporting the entire document.
You can choose from simple line dividers, or more prominent page dividers with rounded corners. Either way, your document remains seamless if you draw across this boundary.
## Interactive Help Videos
You can show the interactive help by tapping the Help button in the top right corner. The interactive help contains a series of short videos that demonstrate how to use the features in Flow.
The video will automatically change to show help for the current activity. For example, when you tap the Lasso Knife the "Selecting and moving strokes" video will be shown.
## Choosing a cover image
Each document can have custom cover art. Tap the Document Settings button at the top left when a document is open, then choose an image or use dynamic cover art from the document itself.
For a static image, you can choose from Files, Photo Library or Camera.
For dynamic cover art, you can choose to show the last page edited, the last stroke edited or a custom live area from the document. The cover image will update automatically in the background.

# The Tools
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-21*
Meet Flow's drawing tools — from brush pens to markers and pencils — and customize the style, color, and size of each.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/flow/the-tools/)
In Flow, you create a set of drawing tools that can each be customized. You can choose a style, color and size for each tool. With Apple Pencil the tools react to tilt and pressure, which can be customized further in the Drawing and Gestures preferences.
Tools are created and organized in the Tool Dock. When you want to change a tool’s properties like color, tip, or size, this is done in the Tool Editor, which always displays information for the tool you currently have selected. To fine tune how a tool responds as you draw, use the Tool Designer.
The tool types in Flow are:
## Brush pen
[Image: The Brush Pen in Flow]
A brush style pen that applies on top of your existing drawing at full opacity. A highly variable size that can be controlled by pressure with an Apple Pencil makes it ideal for inking large areas.
[Examples using the Brush Pen in the Flow Gallery](/flow/gallery/tag/brush-pen)
## Graphite Pencil
[Image: The Graphite Pencil in Flow]
A technical style pencil with a balanced mix of softness, sharpness and texture. The size is slightly responsive to pressure and can be used for shading at an angle. Applies additively so you can build up strokes or use it for marking-up.
[Examples using the Graphite Pencil in the Flow Gallery](/flow/gallery/tag/graphite-pencil)
## Fineliner Pen
[Image: The Fineliner Pen in Flow]
A smooth, roller style pen that applies at full opacity and builds additively. The size changes minimally with speed and pressure, so it’s ideal for note taking or precise drawing where clean lines are desired.
[Examples using the Fineliner Pen in the Flow Gallery](/flow/gallery/tag/fineliner-pen)
## Fountain Pen
[Image: The Fountain Pen in Flow]
An expressive pen with smooth ink flow and highly variable size depending on speed, pressure and the angle you are holding an Apple Pencil.
[Examples using the Fountain Pen in the Flow Gallery](/flow/gallery/tag/fountain-pen)
## Round Marker
[Image: The Round Marker in Flow]
A round tipped marker. The opacity will build with each individual stroke you make by lifting the Brush or your finger and drawing again.
[Examples using the Round Marker in the Flow Gallery](/flow/gallery/tag/round-marker)
## Chisel Marker
[Image: The Chisel Marker in Flow]
A chisel tipped marker that responds to the angle you are holding an Apple Pencil. The opacity will build with each individual stroke you make as you lift off the screen and draw again.
[Examples using the Chisel Marker in the Flow Gallery](/flow/gallery/tag/chisel-marker)
## Air Brush
[Image: The Air Brush in Flow]
Applies over large areas with additive blending and responds to pressure.
[Examples using the Air Brush in the Flow Gallery](/flow/gallery/tag/airbrush)
## Crayon
A textured drawing tool that creates a rough, waxy mark. The opacity will build with each individual stroke you make as you lift off the screen and draw again.
[Examples using the Crayon in the Flow Gallery](/flow/gallery)
## Flat Brush
[Image: The Flat Brush in Flow]
A wide brush that responds strongly to pressure and fades as you draw. Similar to the Brush Pen, but the tip is flat rather than round and can be rotated, giving a more pronounced faded edge.
[Examples using the Flat Brush in the Flow Gallery](/flow/gallery)
## Lasso Knife
The [Lasso Knife](/support/flow/lasso/) is a tool that lets you move, rotate or duplicate strokes that you have drawn.
## Eraser
The Eraser is on the Tool Dock and removes entire strokes as you touch them. When selected it slides out, and on the Tool Editor you can toggle which types of tool it can delete. To clear the whole document, press and hold the Eraser until the confirmation dialog appears.
## Correction Tool
The Correction Tool trims and erases small areas — it removes parts of strokes and cuts clean holes into inserted images where you draw. When selected it slides out, and you can adjust its size on the Tool Editor.
## Ruler
The [Ruler](/support/flow/creating-with-flow/ruler/) comes in two modes: a simple ruler you drag around the page and draw along, and a drafting ruler for straight lines, rectangles, circles and sophisticated perspective drawings.
## Lines and Shapes
Flow can also tidy up shapes after you draw them. Hold still before lifting and a rough stroke snaps into a perfect line, rectangle, circle, ellipse or triangle. See [Lines and Shapes](/support/flow/creating-with-flow/lines-and-shapes/).

# Tool Dock
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-13*
Keep your drawing tools close in the Tool Dock, where you can add, rearrange, and delete tools with a tap as you draw.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/flow/tool-dock/)
Flow keeps your drawing tools in the Tool Dock. Much like picking up and putting down real tools, the Tool Dock allows you to quickly find and select your next tool with just a tap as you draw.
## Creating a new tool
To add a new tool, tap the “+” icon at the bottom of the Dock. This will automatically duplicate the selected tool and you can then change its properties in the Tool Editor.
As you continue to add pens, pencils, and markers, the Tool Dock will expand. Don’t worry about adding too many tools – the Tool Dock can hold as many as you need. Should you have a large set of drawing utensils in the Tool Dock, you can scroll to find the one you need.
## Rearranging tools
To organize the Tool Dock, tap and hold on a tool and drag it up or down.
## Deleting tools
Similarly, deleting a tool is done with drag and drop. Once you’ve chosen a tool, drag it to the trash icon at the bottom of the Tool Dock to delete it.
## Swapping sides
By default, the Tool Dock is on the right side of the screen. If you’d like it to swap to the other side, push the Dock toward the edge of the screen.

Swipe up or down on the dots to adjust the size the tool draws with. The size is the setting for the particular type of tool. Different types of tool will apply at different sizes on the page when you draw with them.
#### Type
Swipe up or down on the tip of the tool to change the type. Flow has a number of [tool types](/support/flow/creating-with-flow/the-tools/) to choose from: brush pen, flat brush, graphite pencil, fineliner pen, fountain pen, round marker, chisel marker, air brush and crayon.
To change how a tool responds as you draw, covering pressure, speed, tilt and more, use the [Tool Designer](/support/flow/creating-with-flow/tool-designer/).
#### Hue
Swipe up or down on the vertical strip of color to spin through the spectrum of color hues.
#### Saturation
Slide the strip of color left and right to adjust saturation.
If you slide the saturation all the way down to the end of the tool, you can change the mode to shades of gray. Slide back left or tap back on the color area to return it to color.
#### Brightness
You can change the brightness by swiping up or down on the end cap of your selected tool. Change the brightness to zero to swap to shades of grey.
#### Opacity
Swipe up or down on the vertical opacity slider to adjust the opacity of the selected tool.
## Eyedropper
Press and hold the Eyedropper button to activate it. The ring shows your current color on the right side, and the new color on the left side for comparison.
Drag the eyedropper over top of anywhere on your document or pens and let go to pick the new color.
While the Eyedropper is active, a row of shade and tint variants of your current color is shown so you can quickly select them without having to open the pen editor.
### Picking accurate colors
The eyedropper reads an area of the page rather than a single point, so it returns a stable, representative color. Previously it could land on a tiny gap between stamps, a hole in a grain texture, or a soft stroke edge and give you something unexpected.
By default it reports the color **as it appears on the page**, which is what you usually want when matching something you can see, including where strokes overlap and blend.
If you would rather recover the color of the tool that made the stroke, turn on **Eyedropper finds original tool color** in [Drawing and Gestures](/support/flow/managing-your-documents/preferences/#color). This matters most with light or semi-transparent strokes: a pale red pencil line looks washed out on the page, but the tool that drew it was a strong red, and this setting gives you the red back.
### Reaching the eyedropper quickly
As well as the Eyedropper button, you can assign it to a gesture in [Drawing and Gestures](/support/flow/managing-your-documents/preferences/#drawing-and-gestures). One option holds a finger on the page and draws with Apple Pencil to bring it up, without going near the tool editor.

# Tool Designer
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-14*
Shape how a Flow tool behaves as you draw in the Tool Designer, adjusting pressure, speed, tilt, fade, and steadiness.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/flow/tool-designer/)
The Tool Designer is where you shape how a tool behaves as you draw: how it responds to pressure, speed and tilt, how it fades, how steady it is. The [Tool Editor](/support/flow/creating-with-flow/tool-editor/) changes a tool's size, color and type; the Tool Designer changes its character.
It was previously called Tool Setup.
## Getting there
Open the Tool Designer from the main menu. You can also assign it to the Apple Pencil double tap gesture in [Drawing and Gestures](/support/flow/managing-your-documents/preferences/#drawing-and-gestures).
## The layout
The Tool Designer fills the screen and splits into three parts:
- **The settings**, down the left, grouped into sections
- **Size, opacity and color**, in the narrow strip beside the scratch pad
- **The scratch pad**, taking up the right, with the tool dock along its bottom edge
Draw on the scratch pad to feel each change immediately. It responds to hover and to the angle you hold Apple Pencil at, exactly like the main canvas, so what you see there is what you will get on the page.
Being able to change size, opacity and color without leaving the screen matters more than it sounds. A tool that behaves nicely as a thick dark stroke can feel quite different as a thin pale one.
The button in the top right controls **Auto Clear**. With it on the scratch pad wipes each time you start a new stroke, so you always judge a stroke on its own. With it off strokes build up, which is the better way to see how a tool layers over itself.
## Choosing a tool
Tap the tool name, which has a chevron beside it, to bring up a menu of every tool type, or tap a tool in the dock along the bottom of the scratch pad. A short description of the selected tool sits under its name.
Each tool keeps its own settings, so changes you make here apply to that tool type everywhere you use it.
**Not every tool has the same settings.** The sections below cover what you are most likely to see, but the list changes from tool to tool. A crayon exposes controls a fineliner has no use for.
## Shape
How steady and how varied the stroke is:
- **Smooths out small wobbles** – steadies an unsteady hand without flattening intentional detail
- **Flicks out when direction changes rapidly** – lets strokes taper as you change direction quickly
- **Randomly changes in width** – organic variation along the stroke
The way width variation works has been rebuilt. It now measures distance across the canvas rather than across the screen, so a tool behaves the same whether you are zoomed right in or working at full page, and the variation follows a smoother, more natural rhythm than before.
## Fade
Fade controls how a stroke starts and ends, in the manner of a real tool running out of ink or being laid down gradually. Four sliders shape it:
- What amount does the stroke fade out by
- The distance you can draw before fading out begins
- What amount of fade does the stroke begin from
- The distance from when you begin drawing to the stroke being faded in
Because these are measured in distance drawn, a short mark and a long sweeping one fade consistently with each other.
## Pressure, Speed and Tilt
These three sections set how your input changes the stroke: how hard you press, how fast you move, and the angle you hold Apple Pencil at. Depending on the tool, each can change the stroke's **width**, its **opacity**, or both.
Each slider carries a number, and the number can go negative. A positive value on Speed widens the stroke as you move faster; a negative one thins it.
Beside each slider is a **curve button**, which sets how the change is spread across the range:
| Curve | Feel |
| --- | --- |
| Direct response | Even and predictable across the whole range |
| Gentle initial response | Little effect at first, building towards the top |
| Strong initial response | Reacts quickly at the start, then levels off |
| Smoothed response | Eased at both ends, strongest through the middle |
## Resetting
**Reset**, under the tool description, returns the selected tool to its original settings. It only affects the tool you are currently editing, so the rest of your tools are left alone.

# Ruler
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-13*
Draw straight lines, circles, and perspective guides with Flow's Ruler, and position, lock, and snap it as you work.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/flow/ruler/)
The ruler in Flow comes in two modes. The **simple ruler** places a ruler object on the page that you drag around and draw along, much like a real ruler. The **drafting ruler** is a powerful set of guides for everything from precise lines and circles to sophisticated perspective drawings.
If you want Flow to tidy up shapes you have already drawn rather than guide you as you draw them, see [Lines and Shapes](/support/flow/creating-with-flow/lines-and-shapes/).
## Turning on the ruler
Tap the ruler from the toolbar to turn it on. The ruler can be on while you use any drawing tool.
You can also configure gestures to quickly access the ruler (see [Drawing and Gestures](/support/flow/managing-your-documents/preferences/#drawing-and-gestures)).
Tapping somewhere on the page well away from the ruler turns it off again.
## Choosing a ruler mode
[Image: Flow's ruler panel, showing the mode, magnet and reset controls]
Turning the ruler on brings up the ruler panel. You can drag the panel by its grip and place it wherever suits you.
The two buttons along the top switch between the **simple ruler** (left) and the **drafting ruler** (right). The selected mode is highlighted.
In simple mode the panel stays compact, with just two more controls:
- The **magnet** button snaps rotation to 5º increments
- The **reset** button returns the ruler to its default position and rotation
Switching to the drafting ruler grows the panel to add its own controls. Those are covered under [Drafting ruler](#drafting-ruler).
## Simple ruler
[Image: Drawing along the edge of Flow's simple ruler]
The simple ruler puts a ruler object on the page. Draw along either of its long edges and your stroke follows the edge exactly.
### Moving and rotating
- **Press and drag** anywhere on the ruler to move it around
- **Pinch** the ruler to change its size
- **Rotate** it with two fingers, or grab the circular hole with Apple Pencil and turn
Tap the magnet button on the ruler panel to make rotation snap to 5º increments as you turn.
The circular hole is also a quick way to set the angle without dragging:
- **Tap** it to rotate the ruler in 90º increments
- **Double tap** it to set the rotation back to 0º
### Resetting the simple ruler
Tap the reset button on the ruler panel to return the ruler to its default position and rotation.
## Drafting ruler
The drafting ruler is the full drafting system, with guides, masking, snapping and perspective.
[Image: Flow's ruler panel in drafting mode]
Choosing the drafting ruler grows the panel to add three more controls:
- **Shape** sets what you are drawing along: a line, a rectangle or a circle
- **Mask** sets whether strokes are blocked inside or outside the shape
- **Perspective** adds vanishing points for projected drawing
Each of these opens a more detailed submenu when you tap it, holding the variations described in the sections below. The magnet and reset buttons stay where they were.
### Drawing with the drafting ruler
- Blue lines indicate that your tool will lock to them when you draw
- Grey lines are for reference, meaning your tool will not lock to them
- Shaded areas are masked, which means drawing is blocked in these areas (see [Masking](#masking)).
### Positioning the Ruler
[Watch video on Vimeo](https://vimeo.com/513631941)
The ruler is placed on your document, so it stays the same relative to your drawing as you pan around. It also means you can zoom in and adjust the ruler with precision.
The ruler has two main parts that you can move called _handles_.
#### Position handle
Moving this handle positions the whole ruler tool on the document. When you move this handle, the angle of your ruler doesn’t change - this lets you translate a set of parallel lines, or duplicate a rectangle and circle to a different location but retain the exact same proportions.
#### Angle handle
By moving the angle handle you can define a line at any angle, a rectangle of any proportion and a circle of any radius.
### Locking the ruler
[Watch video on Vimeo](https://vimeo.com/513633198)
Double tap the position handle to temporarily lock the ruler and prevent it from being adjusted. This is so you can start drawing a line from the origin point, without accidentally moving the ruler itself.
### Resetting the Ruler
[Watch video on Vimeo](https://vimeo.com/513631605)
Tap the reset button to re-position the ruler back into the centre of your current document position and return handles to their default layout. The default line angle is 45º.
You can also double-tap the angle handle with your Apple Pencil to cycle between 90º, 45º and 0º. If you have Line with Single Guide enabled, tapping its handle will reset it to be 45º from the main line.
Perspective guidelines are reset separately (see [Reset Perspective Guides](#reset-perspective-guides)).
### Snapping
#### Without background pattern
[Watch video on Vimeo](https://vimeo.com/513631196)
By toggling the Snap button, you can choose to make the ruler automatically adjust the position of the angle handle when you move it so that the angle is set to precise 5º increments.
When you move the position handle, it will intelligently snap along the horizontal and vertical axes as indicated by a yellow guide line.
#### With dot grid, grid and isometric background patterns
[Watch video on Vimeo](https://vimeo.com/513631410)
Both the position and angle handles will snap to the background pattern intersection points.
### Lines
Select Line mode and your tools will lock to the blue ruler lines when drawing. You will still see grey reference lines for rectangle and circle options.
Tapping the Line button a second time allows selecting alternative line modes:
#### Line with Single Guide
[Watch video on Vimeo](https://vimeo.com/513633028)
A second guide line appears offset from the main ruler line, at any angle you set by moving the handle.
#### Line with Reflected Guide
[Watch video on Vimeo](https://vimeo.com/513632667)
Two additional guide lines appear offset from the main ruler line. The guide lines are reflected so when you adjust the angle handle, both lines will match but on opposite sides of the main ruler line.
### Rectangles and Squares
[Watch video on Vimeo](https://vimeo.com/513631758)
Select Rectangle mode to draw rectangles. For drawing perfect squares, turn on both [Snapping](#snapping) and the dot or grid [Background Pattern](/support/flow/documents/#background-options)
#### Quadrilaterals
Choose quadrilateral mode by tapping a second time on the rectangle menu button and selecting it. Drawing a quadrilateral allows you to position any of the four corners individually.
- The position handle moves the entire shape around and is the origin.
- The angle handle rotates the shape around the origin and determines overall scale. Double tapping it resets it to 45º from the position handle.
- The other two corner handles can be positioned independently, double tapping them resets their angle to 0º and 90º respectively from the origin
### Circles and Ellipses
[Watch video on Vimeo](https://vimeo.com/513632829)
Select Circle mode for drawing circles and ellipses.
When ellipse mode is active, a third handle appears. Dragging this handle changes the circle into an ellipse. You can reset this by double tapping the elliptical handle with Apple Pencil or by dragging the handle outwards to the maximum.
### Masking
#### Draw on the edge
In this mode, your lines are automatically locked to the ruler edges, indicated by blue lines, and no area is masked.
#### Draw inside the edge
Your strokes will only apply inside the shape and not in the darkened areas outside of it. If you have Line mode selected, one side of the line will be darkened and prevent strokes being made in this area.
#### Draw outside the edge
The inverse of the Draw inside the edge option, the opposite area appears dark and prevents strokes.
#### Example: Masking shapes
[Watch video on Vimeo](https://vimeo.com/513632111)
#### Example: Masking lines
[Watch video on Vimeo](https://vimeo.com/513632525)
#### Example: Masking lines with guides
[Watch video on Vimeo](https://vimeo.com/513632298)
### Perspective
Turning on perspective mode adds vanishing points to allow advanced drawing with projection. Choose the number of vanishing points from the menu by tapping on the number.
Your perspective guide remembers its most recent layout on each document you use it on.
#### One point perspective
[Watch video on Vimeo](https://vimeo.com/513171071)
Shows a vertical, horizontal and single vanishing point which can be dragged to any position.
#### Two point perspective
[Watch video on Vimeo](https://vimeo.com/513630338)
Two vanishing points appear with lines to them from the position handle as well as a vertical line. Each vanishing point can be independently adjusted horizontally. Vertical adjustment automatically applies to both vanishing points.
#### Three point perspective
[Watch video on Vimeo](https://vimeo.com/513630747)
The third vanishing point is controlled a little differently. Commonly the third vanishing point needs to be positioned quite far from the drawing itself, so adjusting the vertical position is done by tapping on the ‘center’ indicator from the horizontal guide line and moving the slider. This allows controlling the position of the vanishing point when it is far off-screen.
#### Reset Perspective Guides
Tap _Reset Perspective Guides_ to reset vanishing points to default positions.

# Lines and Shapes
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-14*
Draw a line or shape, hold still, and Flow snaps it into a perfect straight line, rectangle, circle, ellipse, or triangle.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/flow/lines-and-shapes/)
Flow can detect what you have just drawn and turn it into a perfect straight line or shape. It works with any drawing tool, and nothing needs to be turned on first, as it is enabled by default.
[Image: Lines and shapes snapped by Flow, including arrows and dots on line ends]
## Snapping a line or shape
Draw your line or shape as you normally would, then **hold still for a brief moment without lifting up**. Flow looks at what you drew and snaps it into a clean version.
Flow detects:
- straight lines
- curved lines
- rectangles, including squares
- circles
- ellipses (ovals)
- triangles, both right angle and isosceles
You do not have to draw neatly. Detection is designed to cope with wobbly strokes, kinks, and corners that overlap or do not quite meet.
## Straight lines
When you draw a nearly straight line and hold still, it snaps to being perfectly straight.
By default the line then stays attached to your pencil so you can **drag the end point** around until you are happy with it. Lift off to place it. While you are dragging, the line is drawn in front of everything else on the page so you can see it clearly. Once you let go, it settles back into its correct position in the layer stack.
As you drag, bringing the line close to exactly horizontal or vertical snaps it to that direction.
If you would rather have lines placed immediately instead of dragging them, turn off **Allow straight lines to drag**.
## Curved lines
A line drawn as a deliberate curve is smoothed into a clean curve rather than being straightened. Flow applies a little extra smoothing at the start and end of a curve to reduce small flicks.
## Shapes
Shapes snap to a tidied-up version of what you drew, and shapes that are close to being lined up straight with the page adjust to line up exactly.
Flow also tightens shapes that are nearly regular:
- A rectangle close to square becomes a square
- An ellipse close to circular becomes a circle
- A triangle close to isosceles or right angle snaps to that
## Arrows and dots
[Image: The arrows menu appearing after drawing a straight line]
Flow can offer to add arrowheads and dots to the ends of your lines. Turn on **Add arrows to lines** and a small menu pops up after you draw a line.
The menu gives you six options: an arrow at the start, at the end, or at both ends, and the same three for dots. Tap one to apply it, or carry on drawing to dismiss the menu and leave the line plain.
This is off by default.
## Working with the Lasso Knife
By default, a shape is handed straight to the [Lasso Knife](/support/flow/creating-with-flow/lasso/) as soon as it is created, so you can move, scale or rotate it right away. When you place the shape or cancel the selection, Flow switches you back to the tool you were using before.
Turn off **Auto select shapes after making them** if you would rather keep drawing without interruption.
## Settings
All of these live under **Straight Lines and Shapes** in [Drawing and Gestures](/support/flow/managing-your-documents/preferences/#straight-lines-and-shapes).
| Setting | Default | What it does |
| ------------------------------------ | ------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Enabled | On | Master switch for the whole feature |
| Allow straight lines to drag | On | Keeps a snapped line attached to your pencil so you can drag its end point |
| Snap alignment when close | On | Snaps a nearly horizontal or vertical line to be exactly aligned |
| Smooth curved lines | On | Smooths deliberate curves instead of straightening them |
| Add arrows to lines | Off | Shows a menu for adding arrowheads and dots to line ends |
| Require holding still for longer | Off | Lengthens the pause needed before Flow snaps, if it triggers sooner than you want |
| Auto select shapes after making them | On | Hands a new shape to the Lasso Knife so it can be moved straight away |
**Allow straight lines to drag**, **Snap alignment when close** and **Require holding still for longer** all depend on **Enabled**. Turning the master switch off disables them too.

# Collaboration & Screen Recording
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-13*
Invite others to draw and edit a Flow document with you in real time, and manage who can view and change your work.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/flow/collaboration/)
You can invite others to work with you on a Flow document in real time by sending them a link. Because Flow documents are stored in your Flow account on the cloud, people can see changes to the document as they happen. Your collaborators will need a compatible iOS or iPadOS device. Everyone with the link can make changes that everyone else will see. If you want to collaborate with people who do not have a Flow compatible device, you can share your screen with them via SharePlay or FaceTime (view-only for participants).
#### Requirements
Each participant will need a compatible iOS or iPadOS device, an internet connection and an active Flow account (subscriptions still in their trial period are eligible).
#### Offline Editing
You can still make changes to a shared document offline and it will automatically merge when you next have a connection. Please note this could lead to some interesting results if multiple people have worked on the same area of the document!
## Draw with others
Tap the collaboration icon on your document (or long press the document from the Collections screen and select Collaboration).
Tap _Share Document Link_ and from here you can directly send the link via the share sheet via iMessage, Airdrop, Mail, Slack or other apps. You can also copy the link directly to your clipboard.
Once the recipient follows the link, they will be prompted to download Flow if it is not already installed and then they will join the document. You will only see them on the list of people once they have successfully accepted the link.
If you'd like to collaborate with a larger group, send us a message from the Help screen and we'll be happy to help.
#### Managing collaborators
If you are the owner of the document, you can remove other people by tapping on the Collaboration menu, swiping left on a name then tapping Remove. If you haven’t stopped sharing the document, people with the document link can still rejoin. To stop sharing the document entirely or create a different share link, see _Stop sharing a document_.
> Remember: collaborators can export images from the document, screenshot and copy content to their clipboard prior to being removed.
### Stop sharing a document
If you are the owner of a document, you can turn off sharing by going to the Collaboration menu then tapping Stop Sharing.
This disables the previously created document link, so new people are not able to join the document.
> Important: existing collaborators will still be able to access the document, even after you select Stop Sharing. See information about removing collaborators in Managing Collaborators.
Once you have selected Stop Sharing, you can tap _Share Document Link_ again and a new unique link will be generated.
#### Deleting shared documents
If you are the owner of a shared document and delete it, it will be deleted for everyone. It may appear temporarily for others until their account synchronises with the server.
If you are a participant of a shared document and delete it, it will be removed from your document list but will not be deleted for anyone else.
#### Finding shared documents
Any documents that have collaboration active will appear in the automatic _Shared_ collection on the Collections screen.
## Creating together
- Everyone has the ability to modify the creations of anyone else in the document, so keep that in mind when erasing!
- Your tools are connected to your own personal account, so everyone will be using their own.
#### Notifications
You will be notified when someone else updates a shared document, so you can join in or check out their changes later. You can toggle notifications for individual documents on the Collaboration menu. You can turn off notifications for all documents permanently in _Preferences > General > Notifications_.
#### Seeing collaborator positions
When another person draws on the document, their initials will appear on the screen. If the area they are working on is not currently shown on your screen, you can tap the initials to jump to that place in the document. You can turn off seeing these position indicators in the Collaboration menu.
You can also tap on a name from the Collaborator menu to jump to the position they most recently edited.
## Record screen
This records everything on your screen within Flow (including system notifications, so remember to turn on Do Not Disturb if you wish to keep notifications off-screen during a recording).
You can choose to include your camera and/or microphone on the recording. Your camera preview can be moved around the screen so it doesn’t interfere with your drawing.
After recording:
- Tap the record Stop button to end your recording
- You can trim the video here before saving or sharing
- Tap Save on the preview so the video saves to your device Photo library
- Tap Share to send the video directly to someone or choose another destination to save it (Files, Dropbox, LumaFusion etc)
Important: if you don’t tap Save, your video will be discarded.
## Broadcast screen
With a compatible app, you can broadcast your screen live directly from Flow while you draw. This is ideal if you want to share to lots of people at once in a view-only mode. Some apps that support broadcasting on iOS/iPadOS include Zoom, Around, Slack, Twitch, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
To get started:
- Tap Broadcast screen
- Choose whether to include just your screen, or your Camera and Microphone too
- Choose a destination app (supported apps must be installed on your device already)
- Tap Start Recording
When you wish to stop recording / broadcasting, tap the red record button on your screen and then Stop Recording.
## Flow Slack App
You can install our nifty Flow Slack app and when you share Flow documents on Slack, you will see a document preview that automatically updates and shows indicators for which collaborators currently have the document open.

Pick up an image from another app with drag and drop, then drop it directly onto the Flow document.
## Selecting an image
Images are selected and manipulated using the Lasso Knife tool. Unlike strokes, there are two ways of selecting an image:
1. As part of a group selection (multiple images and strokes) by drawing a marquee with the Lasso Knife
2. Independently selected by long-pressing with your finger on the image
When an image is independently selected, you can change the opacity by adjusting the vertical slider that appears. You can also reset the rotation back to zero degrees. These options are not available when images are part of a group selection.
## Editing a selected image
#### Flip vertically
Transform the image on a vertical axis.
#### Flip horizontallly
Transform the image on a horizontal axis.
#### Duplicate
Make an exact copy of the image, including existing changes like size and rotation.
#### Delete
Remove the image from your document (this does not delete it from the original source).
#### Colorise
Tap to apply a color filter to your image with your most recently used color. To use another color, tap and hold the colored circle and drag the eyedropper to another color on the document or a tool.
Note: colorising pure white will not change the image, and pure black will make the entire image black. If you want to darken an image, try using a shade of grey.
#### Remove Background
Tap to automatically remove the background from your image.
## Gestures to edit images
#### Select
Tap an image with the Lasso Tool active to select it
#### Move
Once selected you can use your Apple Pencil or finger to drag the image around the document. If you pan the document, the image will be held in front so you can move it longer distances easily.
#### Resize
Pinch on the image when selected to resize it or drag the resize handles
#### Rotate
Rotate with two fingers on the image to rotate or drag the rotate handle.
## Advanced image settings
#### Opacity
With the image selected, slide the opacity control to modify the opacity.
#### Reset rotation
With the image selected, tap the reset button on the floating control. This will return the image to 0º if you have changed the rotation.

[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/flow/pencilcase/)
[Watch video on Vimeo](https://vimeo.com/497130919)
With Pencil Case, your iPhone wirelessly becomes your Flow tool editor and allows you to draw on your iPad completely fullscreen. It’s instant, immersive and disturbingly fun.
## Before you start
Ensure both your iPhone and iPad:
- Have the latest version of Flow installed
- Are signed into the same Bonobo account (check this on _Menu > Account_)
- Have Bluetooth enabled in iOS/iPadOS settings
- Have Local Network access enabled in iOS/iPadOS settings under Flow
## Activating Pencil Case
Open a Flow document on your iPad, and then open Flow on your iPhone. After a moment your iPhone should automatically activate Pencil Case. If it does not activate but you see the Pencil Case button on your iPad, tap it to manually turn on Pencil Case. If no icon appears, check the Before you start list.
## Using Pencil Case
You can place your iPhone wherever is ergonomically best for you and change the orientation of the tools by tapping the mode selector to toggle between horizontal and vertical.
If you are interrupted and need to do something else on your iPhone, the tools will return to your iPad until you open Flow on your iPhone again.
While Pencil Case is active, the hide interface option is still available on iPad but will only hide the top menu items.
## Turning Off Pencil Case
- Tap the Pencil Case icon on your iPad
or
- Tap the close button on your iPhone
You can choose whether Pencil Case is automatically activated in the _Menu > Preferences > Pencil Case Mode_.

# Pen Sets
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-13*
Save your favorite tool and color setups as Pen Sets, then switch between them instantly as you draw.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/flow/pensets/)
With Pen Sets, you can save different configurations of tools and colours then quickly swap between them. For example, you could have one set for taking notes and another set for pencil sketching.
## Using Pen Sets
- Tap the Pen Set icon above the tool dock to open Pen Sets.
- Swipe sideways to choose a Pen Set then tap to open it.
- You can also configure Gestures to quickly select your last Pen Set.
Tips:
- The default set of pens is called Essentials and can be modified however you like, but not deleted entirely
- Documents remember which Pen Set you used last
## Editing Pen Sets
- When Pen Sets are open, tap the ... Edit button.
- Pens can be drag-and-dropped within their set to rearrange the order, and also dragged across to other sets for reorganization.
- Tap the Pen Set name to customize it (except Essentials, which is the default set)
- Tapping the + on an individual pen will duplicate it in place.
- On the Essentials Pen Set, you can reset to default options by tapping the top left reset button.
## Sharing Pen Sets
If you've created a great set of pens, tap the share button to send it to someone else. Pen Sets are shared via a special URL that shows a preview of the set and allows opening it directly in Flow when on an iOS or iPadOS device.

# Layers
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-13*
Work in layers to draw, hide, reorder, and merge parts of your Flow document independently without affecting the rest.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/flow/layers/)
Layers are like stacked pieces of transparent paper. You can draw on them independently, you can merge them, rearrange their order, hide or show them and change their opacity. Layers create a safeguard for your work so you can change individual parts while preserving the rest. For example, you might sketch something with pencil on one layer, then draw over the top with ink then hide the original pencil sketch layer completely.
## Layers Panel
Tap the Layers button to get started. You can dock the layers panel on either side of the screen or drag it around to a position you prefer. If you open Flow on your iPhone in Pencil Case mode, your layers can be controlled from your iPhone, leaving your iPad uncluttered. If you use an Apple Pencil 2, the double-tap gesture can be configured to toggle the layers panel.
## Working with Layers
- By default every document has a permanent background layer. Its opacity can be adjusted, and it can optionally be hidden or made non-selectable.
- Tap on a layer to make it active. Any new strokes will be added to this layer.
- Tap the visibility (eye) button to hide or show a layer.
- Long press the visibility (eye) button to temporarily show a layer in isolation.
- Drag layers to rearrange their order.
- Tap the + button to add a new layer.
## Layer Options
- Tap the … button to show the layer options menu.
- Choose a color for the layer. This is helpful for color-coding different types of layers. For example, you might choose blue for draft content and green for final content.
- Adjust the slider to change layer opacity.
- Rename allows you change the title of a layer.
- Merge Down combines the current layer with the layer directly underneath and inherits the opacity of the target layer.
- Clear removes all content from the selected layer.
- Duplicate allows you to directly replicate a layer.
- Delete removes the layer entirely.
## Selecting and Erasing with Layers
- When you select the eraser or lasso knife tool, you can toggle between affecting content from the currently selected layer or all enabled layers.
- Enabled layers are toggled by the tick button next to each layer name, this only appears when using the eraser or lasso knife.
- Move to Layer: with a Lasso or Eraser selection active, you can move the selection to the currently active layer.
## Other Tips
- If you copy content from one document into another, the layers will also be copied along with their respective opacity settings.

# Collections
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-13*
Organize your Flow documents into Collections that work like folders, so you can name, move, sort, and find your work.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/flow/collections/)
Collections are a way to keep your Flow documents organized, working like folders that you can name and store your documents in. Tapping the Collections button in the top left of the screen moves your document over to display your Collections.
Documents that belong to the Collection you are currently viewing are shown in the middle of the screen, while on the left you can see all of your Collections. When you first get started with Flow, you’ll only see the built-in “All” Collection. This special Collection shows all the documents you have, sorted by the most recently viewed.
In **iPad** portrait mode or on **iPhone**, the Collections sidebar will automatically collapse in size. Tap or swipe right on it to expand it. On the **web**, the Collections sidebar is always visible, but will collapse on smaller device sizes.

# Exporting
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-13*
Export your Flow work as an image, a full document, or a timelapse video or GIF, with options for background and length.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/flow/exporting/)
## Screenshot
When exporting a screenshot image, the part of the document you are currently viewing is automatically selected. It does not include the Flow interface.
Tips:
- Use a preset to automatically choose the best options for when sharing to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest
- You can modify the exact screenshot area by tapping Crop Area > Edit. Pan the screen and pinch to zoom for fine tuning.
- If you choose to enable a transparent background, the background colour will be automatically disabled on the exported PNG image.
## Selection
Draw around the area you wish to export as an image. Anything outside the area you draw will be masked and excluded from the export.
## Entire Document
Because Flow documents have automatically extending sizes, there are a few different options when you wish to export everything:
- PDF (single file, multiple pages)
- PNG (one file per page)
- PNG (seamless single file)
For very large documents, a single seamless PNG may exceed system limits so will be divided into the maximum possible size.
You can choose the start and end of the document by adjusting the Pages slider.
Page separator lines can be enabled in [background options](/support/flow/documents/#background-options) dialogue.
## Timelapse Configuration
### View - Static
Static will keep the screen fixed to a specific Crop Area:
- _Current page_ crops to the center of what is currently on the screen, within your chosen aspect ratio.
- _Custom_ allows you to pan and zoom to a particular area of interest
### View - Move with Stroke
- _Move with stroke_ will adjust the screen position to where drawing activity is happening
### Background
- Turning off the Colour will make the background white (videos do not support transparency)
- Toggle the background Pattern to choose whether it is included in the video
## Timelapse Video
You can make a timelapse video from any document you’ve ever made in Flow.
Tip: use a preset to automatically configure the options for where you intend to share the video.
### Duration
- _Full Length_ will create the timelapse at the highest level of steps, to whatever length is determined by the chosen frame rate.
- _Custom_ will make the number of steps in the timelapse fit within your selected number of seconds.
## Timelapse GIF
You can create an animated GIF from your Flow document then save or share it. Animated GIFs can become large files if you have a particularly big document but you can reduce their size by choosing a smaller resolution, frame rate and duration.
## Timelapse Image Sequence
Generate a set of images showing progress of your drawing with preset options for sharing to Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to make an instant carousel.
- Select the number of images to determine how granular you want your sequence to be.
## Notes about image resolution
Flow exports in PNG format, which allows for high quality images with optional transparency. The export resolution depends on the aspect ratio of your device. For example iPad Pro can export at a resolution of 5464×4096px.
## Exporting images on the Web
[Image: Export options in Flow on the Web]
Entire Flow documents can be exported in PNG format at several different resolutions.

# Flow Widgets
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-21*
Add the Flow Recent Documents widget to your Home or Lock Screen to reach your latest documents fast, plus iOS 18 Quick Add and Open Flow controls.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/flow/flow-widgets/)
**Applies to:** Flow on iPhone and iPad.
Flow's widget keeps your most recent documents one tap from your Home Screen or Lock Screen, and on iOS 18 you can add Control Center controls to jump straight into Flow. This page covers what Flow offers; for the general steps to add, edit, or stack a widget on your device, see [how to add and edit widgets](/support/account/adding-and-editing-widgets/).
## Recent Documents widget
The Recent Documents widget shows your most recently updated Flow documents as thumbnails, newest first. Tap any document to open it straight in Flow.
By default the widget draws from all your documents, but you can point it at one or more specific **collections** in the widget's settings. When it's set to a single collection, the widget's **Add** button creates the new document in that collection.
- **Small:** Your single most recent document.
- **Medium:** Up to four recent documents in a grid.
- **Large:** Up to eight recent documents in a grid.
- **Accessory (Lock Screen):** Circular and rectangular widgets showing your most recent document.
### Add a document from the widget
On the medium and large sizes you can turn on an **Add** (+) tile, which creates a new Flow document without opening the app first. If the widget is filtered to a single collection, the new document is created in that collection.
## Controls (iOS 18)
On iOS 18 and later, Flow offers Control Center and Lock Screen controls:
- **Quick Add:** Start a new Flow document without opening the app first.
- **Open Flow:** Jump straight into Flow.

# Preferences
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-13*
Adjust how Flow works, from sound effects and notifications to Apple Pencil gestures and pressure curves.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/flow/preferences/)
Under Preferences in the Menu there are options for you to customize how Flow works.
## General
1. Play sound effects – When your device sounds are turned on, having this option checked will play sound effects from Flow.
2. Notify me about document changes – Receive push notifications when collaborators are editing shared documents
3. Pencil Case Mode – Automatically activate when both devices are open
4. Timelapse – Choose whether a timelapse is generated by the order in which you drew the content, or the layer order
5. Show Correction Pen – Choose whether the Correction Pen appears in your Tool Dock
6. Pen Sets – When this is enabled, documents will remember which Pen Set you used last
7. Sync with Flow web viewer – Keep your documents in sync with the Flow web viewer
8. Account Sharing – Ensure this is on to share your account automatically with Timepage and Actions
9. Restore Tools to Default – Tap this button to restore your Tool Dock to its original default setup
## Fun Options
Some of the more playful settings, such as the virtual tool, ink drips and eraser debris, now live in their own **Fun Options** menu, rather than sitting among the general preferences.
## Drawing and Gestures
Drawing and gesture preferences are available directly from the button on the top right of your documents or from the main menu.
### Drawing
- **Apply smoothing when drawing with your finger**
- **Use Barrel Roll with Apple Pencil Pro**
### Straight Lines and Shapes
Flow can detect what you have just drawn and snap it into a perfect straight line or shape. Hold still before lifting to straighten lines and detect shapes. See [Lines and Shapes](/support/flow/creating-with-flow/lines-and-shapes/) for the full guide.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Enabled | On | Master switch for the whole feature |
| Allow straight lines to drag | On | Keeps a snapped line attached to your pencil so you can drag its end point |
| Snap alignment when close | On | Snaps a nearly horizontal or vertical line to be exactly aligned |
| Smooth curved lines | On | Smooths deliberate curves instead of straightening them |
| Add arrows to lines | Off | Shows a menu for adding arrowheads and dots to line ends |
| Require holding still for longer | Off | Lengthens the pause needed before Flow snaps |
| Auto select shapes after making them | On | Hands a new shape to the Lasso Knife so it can be moved straight away |
**Allow straight lines to drag**, **Snap alignment when close** and **Require holding still for longer** all depend on **Enabled**. Turning the master switch off disables them too.
### Color
**Eyedropper finds original tool color** – when this is on, the eyedropper returns the color of the tool that made the stroke. When it is off, it returns the color as it appears on the page, which may be lighter or blended where strokes overlap. This is off by default.
### Pressure Curves
You can choose from four different Apple Pencil pressure curves. The slider adjusts the corresponding influence that the curve has on your drawing.
### Pencil and Finger Settings
Under the “Gestures” preference, you have a set of customizable actions to assign to gestures performed while in a document. These gestures are centered around inputs either with the Apple Pencil or your finger and have a multitude of options to choose from.

# How the apps work together
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Web · Updated 2026-08-26*
Timepage, Actions, and Flow share a Bonobo account. Actions and Timepage sync tasks and events both ways; Flow links sketches to calendar days.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/together/how-apps-work-together/)
**Applies to:** Timepage (iPhone, iPad, Mac); Actions and Flow (iPhone, iPad, web). Overlap is free and does not require an account.
The Bonobo suite has three premium apps — plus [Overlap](/overlap), our free world clock — that share a Bonobo account and connect in specific, documented ways. **Actions ↔ Timepage** and **Flow ↔ Timepage** are real technical integrations (data moves between apps). **Flow ↔ Actions** has no direct link; you use both apps side by side in your own workflow.
## What integrates automatically
### Timepage and Actions
Sign in to both with the **same Bonobo account** and the integration turns on by itself:
- Action cards appear in Timepage's Timeline and Day View on their scheduled dates.
- Timepage events appear in Actions' Schedule panel.
- Changes sync both ways — complete, reschedule, or edit a task in either app.
Full setup, gestures, and troubleshooting: [Use Timepage and Actions together](/support/together/timepage-actions/).
### Flow and Timepage
Sign in to both with the **same Bonobo account**:
- Create a Flow document from Timepage (**+** → **Flow**) — the canvas links to that calendar day.
- On iPad, drag an existing canvas from Flow onto a day in Timepage's week view.
Canvases are tied to the **day**, not a specific event. Full guide: [Use Flow and Timepage together](/support/together/flow-timepage/).
## Account requirements
**Bonobo account** — stores your subscription, Actions data, and Flow documents. For integrations:
- **Actions ↔ Timepage:** same Bonobo account in both apps (**Menu > Account**).
- **Flow ↔ Timepage:** same Bonobo account in both apps.
- **Sign-in options:** email, Google, or Apple — use the same method and credentials everywhere.
**Calendar accounts** (separate from Bonobo) — Timepage events live in your device's calendar accounts (iCloud, Google, Exchange, etc.), not in your Bonobo account. Actions reads events that Timepage shows; each device needs the same calendar accounts set up. See [Set up your calendars](/support/timepage/setting-up-calendars/). Timepage also needs permission to access your calendars — if events aren't appearing, open **Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars** and make sure Timepage is allowed.
**Flow Account Sharing** — in Flow, **Menu > Preferences > General > Account Sharing** lets Flow share account information with Timepage and Actions. Turn it on if you use multiple Bonobo apps.
## Sync behaviour
- **Actions ↔ Timepage:** changes sync automatically when both apps are signed in to the same account and you have an internet connection. Usually near-instant.
- **Flow:** documents sync across devices through your Bonobo account. Linking a canvas to a Timepage day is manual (create from Timepage or drag on iPad).
- **Cross-device:** use the same Bonobo account on every device. For Timepage, also use the same calendar accounts on each device.
More detail: [Set up syncing](/support/account/setting-up-syncing/).
## Getting started
1. Install Timepage, Actions, and Flow.
2. Sign in to the **same Bonobo account** in each app (**Menu > Account**).
3. Turn on **Account Sharing** in Flow if you use the suite (**Menu > Preferences > General**).
4. Set up calendar accounts on your device for Timepage ([Set up your calendars](/support/timepage/setting-up-calendars/)).
5. Test: create an Action with a date and check Timepage; tap **+** → **Flow** in Timepage and confirm the thumbnail appears.

# Use Flow and Timepage together
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-25*
Link Flow sketches to a day in Timepage — create a Flow document from Timepage, or drag a canvas from Flow, and open it as a thumbnail on that day.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/together/flow-timepage/)
**Applies to:** Timepage and Flow together on iPhone and iPad.
Flow and Timepage work together so your sketches and visual notes sit with the right day in your calendar. There are two ways to link a canvas to a day: create a Flow document straight from Timepage, or drag an existing canvas from Flow onto a day. Either way the canvas is tied to that **day** (not to a specific event) and appears as a thumbnail you can tap to open in Flow.
## Before you start
- **Both apps installed** — Flow runs on iPhone and iPad.
- **The same Bonobo account** signed in to both (open **Menu > Account** in each).
- **Show Flow Documents turned on** in Timepage's settings, so linked canvases appear on your days. (If a canvas you expect isn't showing, this is the first thing to check.)
## Create a Flow document from Timepage
This works on **iPhone and iPad**, and the two apps don't need to be on screen at the same time:
1. In Timepage, tap the **+** button at the bottom of the screen.
2. Tap **Flow**.
3. Flow opens and starts a new document for you — it's created in a **"Timepage" collection** in Flow and linked to the day you were on.
4. Draw your notes, then return to Timepage.
5. Browse to that day and you'll see a thumbnail of the canvas in the day's **Flow** section.
6. Tap the thumbnail to reopen it in Flow.
## Drag a canvas from Flow to Timepage
If you already have a canvas in Flow, you can link it to a day by dragging it across. This needs both apps on screen, so it's **iPad only**:
1. Open Flow and Timepage together in Split View or Slide Over.
2. In Flow, go to the collection view.
3. Touch and hold the canvas you want to link.
4. Drag it onto Timepage's week view and drop it on a day.
5. The canvas now appears on that day in Timepage.
## How linked canvases appear
- They show in the day's **Flow** section as thumbnails; tap one to open it in Flow.
- A canvas is linked to the **day**, and a single day can hold **several** canvases.
- Timepage refreshes the thumbnail as you edit the canvas in Flow, so it stays current.
## If a canvas doesn't appear
- Make sure **Flow is installed** and **Show Flow Documents** is turned on in Timepage.
- Confirm both apps are signed in to the **same Bonobo account**.
- Drag-and-drop export is **iPad only** — both apps must be on screen (Split View or Slide Over).
- This integration is iPhone/iPad only — it isn't available on the web (the Flow web viewer is view-only) or on Mac (Flow doesn't have a Mac app).

# Use Timepage and Actions together
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS · Updated 2026-08-26*
Sign in to Timepage and Actions with the same account and your events and tasks appear in both apps and stay in sync. Setup, what you can do, and syncing.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/together/timepage-actions/)
**Applies to:** Timepage and Actions together on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Timepage and Actions work together so you see your whole day — events *and* tasks — in one place. Sign in to both apps with the **same Bonobo account** and the integration turns on automatically: your Action cards show up in Timepage, your Timepage events show up in Actions, and changes sync both ways. Here's how to set it up and what you can do.
## Set up the integration
You need:
- **Both apps installed** on your device.
- **The same Bonobo account** signed in to both — open **Menu > Account** in each app and sign in with the same email, Google, or Apple account (see [Create and manage your account](/support/account/creating-and-managing-accounts/)).
- **An internet connection** for syncing.
That's it — once both apps are signed in with the same account, the integration works automatically. Tasks you add in Actions start appearing in Timepage, and events you add in Timepage appear in Actions.
## Your Actions in Timepage
### On the Timeline
Your Action cards appear on their scheduled dates in Timepage's [Timeline](/support/timepage/navigating-timeline-and-day-view/), alongside your calendar events:
- A task shows its name on the date you gave it in Actions.
- Events show their calendar colour, and each Action shows a small colour-coded marker next to its title, so the two are easy to tell apart.
### In Day View
When you tap into a day in Timepage's [Day View](/support/timepage/navigating-day-view/), that day's tasks appear together under an **Actions** header, each showing its [List](/support/actions/lists/) colour and title along with its schedule.
### Work with Actions from Timepage
You can manage Action cards without leaving Timepage:
- **View details:** tap a card to open it in Actions with its full notes, schedule, and list.
- **Mark complete:** short swipe right-to-left on the card.
- **Reschedule:** short swipe left-to-right.
- **Delete:** long swipe left-to-right.
- **Move between days:** drag a card from one day and drop it on another.
- **Create a new Action:** tap the **+** button at the bottom, then tap **Action** — Actions opens for you to type the title, and pressing Done returns you to Timepage.
If you've turned on **Invert Gestures** in Actions' settings, these swipe directions are reversed. Every change you make here syncs back to Actions automatically.
## Your Timepage events in Actions
### On the Schedule
All your Timepage events appear in Actions under the [Schedule](/support/actions/schedule/) panel, on their day:
- Each event shows its calendar colour, so you can tell which calendar it belongs to.
- Tapping an event opens that day in Timepage.
This puts events and tasks side by side, so you can see when you actually have time for a task versus when you're in meetings.
### Move a task to your calendar
If an Action card is really more of a calendar event, tap the **move to Timepage** button above the keyboard while adding it. Timepage opens so you can finish entering the event there.
## How syncing works
Changes sync automatically in both directions — there's no manual sync. When you create, complete, reschedule, or delete an Action card, or edit its title, notes, schedule, or list, the change appears in the other app; acting on a card in one app affects it in the other. Syncing is usually near-instant but depends on your connection, needs both apps signed in to the same account, and requires an internet connection. For more, see [Set up syncing](/support/account/setting-up-syncing/).
## Troubleshooting
If Actions aren't showing in Timepage, events aren't showing in Actions, or sync seems stuck, the usual cause is the two apps being signed in to different accounts — confirm both use the same Bonobo account. Also check that calendar accounts are set up on your device ([Set up your calendars](/support/timepage/setting-up-calendars/)) and that you have an internet connection. If Timepage events specifically aren't reaching Actions, make sure Timepage has permission to access your calendars in **Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars**.

# Getting Started
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS · Updated 2026-08-13*
Get started with Overlap — add and edit time zones, read the Overlap Graph, and share a time with others.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/overlap/getting-started/)
[Image: Overlap home screen, showing three colourful bubbles for three time zones]
The main screen of Overlap shows you the current time for each time zone you have in your list.
Swipe left or right to move time into the future or the past. The time offset (e.g. 7 hours from now) is shown at the bottom and you can tap it to return to the current time.
Time zones in the list can be collapsed and expanded, it's a useful way to focus. Long press on a time zone to collapse it, and long press on a collapsed time zone to re-expand it.
## Adding time zones
You can add a new time zone by tapping the plus button in the bottom left corner. You can search by city, country or time zone name.
## Editing time zones
Tap a time zone in the list to open the edit time zone screen.
You can rename a time zone to anything you like by tapping its name on this screen. For example, you might simply rename a time zone to say 'Grandma' or the name of a client you work with. Tapping the small button under the name will add the time zone abbreviation to the name on the main screen.
Tap the star icon to set this time zone to be your current time zone.
You can choose ‘available’ hours for each time zone. For example, Dan in London might be available from 2pm to 5pm and Rashida in Sydney might be available from 7am to midday. As you swipe through time each time zone will change color to indicate when it is during available hours, and available hours are used to calculate convenient times on the Overlap Graph. You can adjust the flexibility of the available hours so that there is some leniency beforehand or afterwards. Flexibility makes it easier to find times that suit people across time zones.
Add your own notes about a time zone by tapping the notes icon at the bottom of this screen.
## Overlap Graph
Tap the graph button at the bottom center of the screen to open the Overlap Graph. It's a way to find visually the most compatible times for all the currently expanded time zones in your list.
The graph takes into account each of your time zone's availability and flexibility in order to find the most suitable time. Swipe left and right with the graph open to find which times it peaks.
You can change which time zones are including in the graph by long pressing on them to collapse or expand them. Collapsed time zones are not included in the graph.
Pinching the screen changes the scale of time shown. Tap or swipe down to close the Overlap Graph.
## Go to a specific date
Tap the calendar icon at the bottom of the screen to open the date selector. Here you can move the time to a specific date.
## Sharing a time
Tap the share button at bottom of the screen to share a time with someone. You can share a text description of the selected time with a contact or app, tap "Schedule in Timepage" to open the current time in [Timepage](/support/timepage/) or "Schedule Event" to quickly create an event.

Overlap can display events from your calendars. Tap the ellipsis (⋯) icon in the top right to open the calendars setup screen. Tap or drag your calendars on this screen to move them into the "Visible Calendars" section. Events that are on the calendars listed here will be displayed on the main screen above your time zones.
If you have added multiple calendars, you can expand the calendar section on the main screen by tapping on it and see each of your calendars individually.
## Changing Themes
[Watch video on Vimeo](https://vimeo.com/442227728)
Pull down on the list of time zones to display the theme selector. Continue pulling downwards to cycle through the themes and release to choose one. The default theme shows night, day and availability as separate colors, the other themes use a single color to highlight availability.

# Siri Shortcuts
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-13*
Automate time-zone tasks in Overlap with Siri Shortcuts like Convert Date and Find Time, by a tap or your voice.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/overlap/shortcuts/)
You can use Siri Shortcuts to automate common tasks, and trigger them with a tap or by asking Siri. Overlap has support for the following actions: "Convert Date", and "Find Time".
You can use these actions as your building blocks to create simple shortcuts just for Overlap, or you can combine them with actions from other apps for more advanced automation.
## Convert Date
[Image: Convert date - Siri shortcut]
This action converts a given time and date to one or more of your chosen time zones. You could use this as a way for Siri to say the current time for several time zones you're interested in, or as an input to another action.
### Example shortcut
[Image: Current time in San Francisco - Siri shortcut]
For example, you could build a shortcut that shows you the current time in San Francisco.
## Find Time
[Image: Find most convenient times - Siri shortcut]
This action can be used to automate finding a suitable meeting time across multiple time zones. You can choose which of your time zones to include, which calendars to avoid conflicts with, the meeting duration and the time window to search within.
### Example Shortcut
[Image: Book event at convenient time - Siri shortcut]
For example, you could build a shortcut that finds 6 suitable meeting times, lets you choose one, and then creates an event at the chosen time.

# Create and manage your account
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Web · Updated 2026-08-21*
Create a Bonobo account or sign in with email, Google, or Apple, then manage your name, email, password, and memberships from any app or the accounts site.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/account/creating-and-managing-accounts/)
**Applies to:** Your Bonobo account — Timepage (iPhone, iPad, Mac); Actions and Flow (iPhone, iPad, web).
Your Bonobo account is the free account that ties everything together — it syncs your data and settings across your devices and carries your membership between them. You can create one, sign in, and manage your details from any of our apps or from the accounts site. Here's how.
## Create an account or sign in
1. Tap **Sign in**, either in the Menu or in the pop-up dialog.
2. Choose your preferred sign-in method — **Email**, **Google**, or **Apple**.
3. Follow the verification steps for the method you chose.
### Why you need an account
Timepage, Actions, and Flow require a Bonobo account — it's how your membership and your data stay with you. (Overlap is the exception: it's free and needs no account.) Your account also gives you:
- **Cross-device syncing** of your app data and settings (see [Set up syncing](/support/account/setting-up-syncing/)).
- **Your membership across devices**, so a subscription you buy on one device works on the others.
Because we value your privacy, we do not and cannot view any event information sent with an account. We only access your Actions data with your express permission, for debugging.
### If you used to log in with Facebook
We removed Facebook Login from our apps in stages — partially in March 2021, and completely in June 2024. If you previously signed in with Facebook and haven't since set a password, [contact support](/contact) and we'll help you restore access to your account.
## Change your name, email, or password
On the web:
1. Go to [the accounts site](https://accounts.bonobolabs.com).
2. Log in with your account.
3. Under **Email** or **Password**, click **Change**.
On iPhone or iPad:
1. Open Actions on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Open the Menu, then tap **Account**.
3. If you're not logged in, tap **Sign In** first.
4. Tap **Update email and password**.
5. Type your new email and name, then tap the arrow to continue.
6. To change your password, tap **Need to change your password?** and follow the prompts.
## See your memberships
1. Go to [the accounts site](https://accounts.bonobolabs.com).
2. Log in with your account.
3. Click **Account**.
## Merge or delete your account
If you've ended up with more than one account, we can combine them for you — see [Merge your accounts](/support/account/merge-accounts/).
To delete your account and all its data, see the account-deletion steps in [Cancel your subscription](/support/account/cancelling-a-subscription/).

[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/account/email-communications/)
If you choose to opt-in to emails from us, we’ll occasionally send you fun, informative content about our apps. Emails will usually only come once or twice a month and feature tips, suggestions, and relevant information that can improve your use of Timepage, Actions, Flow and Overlap.
A subscription to our emails will also keep you informed about our updates. And of course, you can unsubscribe at any time.

# Merge your accounts
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Web · Updated 2026-08-21*
If you've ended up with two Bonobo accounts, we can combine them for you. Email us both addresses and tell us which one to keep, and we'll merge them.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/account/merge-accounts/)
**Applies to:** Your Bonobo account — Timepage (iPhone, iPad, Mac); Actions and Flow (iPhone, iPad, web).
If you've ended up with two Bonobo accounts, we can combine them for you — you don't have to fix it yourself. This usually happens when you sign in with a different method or email on different devices (say, email on one and Sign in with Apple on another), which can create two separate accounts. We handle merges manually so nothing gets lost, so the quickest route is to email us.
## Ask us to merge your accounts
1. In any of our apps, open the **Help** menu and tap **Contact Support** (or [email us](/contact) directly).
2. Tell us the **email addresses of both accounts**.
3. Tell us **which account you'd like to keep**.
We'll take care of the rest and confirm once your accounts are combined.

# Buy a subscription
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Web · Updated 2026-08-21*
Start a free trial and subscribe to Timepage, Actions, Flow, or the Bonobo Bundle — how the plans and pricing work, and step-by-step instructions to buy.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/account/purchasing-a-subscription/)
**Applies to:** Timepage (iPhone, iPad, Mac); Actions and Flow (iPhone, iPad, web). Overlap is free and needs no subscription.
Our three premium apps — Timepage, Actions, and Flow — are paid subscriptions, and every one starts with a **seven-day free trial** (no credit card required). You can subscribe to a single app, or get all three together as the **Bonobo Bundle**, which is better value. Subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store and billed to your Apple ID.
## Pricing
You can subscribe to a single app monthly or yearly, get all three together as the **Bonobo Bundle**, or share the Bundle with your household as the **Family Bundle** (up to six people in your Apple Family). The yearly plans cost less than paying monthly, and the Bundle is better value than subscribing to each app on its own.
We set our prices using **Purchasing Power Parity**, so the price is adjusted for your country rather than converted at a flat exchange rate — which means it varies by region. To see the exact price where you are, check the App Store, or tap **Menu > My Account > Manage Subscriptions** in the app.
Our fourth app, **Overlap**, is free to download and use without a subscription.
### What is Purchasing Power Parity?
Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) is a way of comparing prices between countries so they reflect a similar amount of local buying power, rather than a straight currency conversion. We price our apps this way so the cost is fairer wherever you live. You can read more about the idea on [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purchasing_power_parity).
### Why a subscription?
Instead of a large upfront cost, we use a lower-cost subscription so the apps stay accessible and we can keep them running smoothly and improving for everyone.
Because iOS subscriptions are handled directly by Apple, your Apple ID is charged monthly or yearly for your membership. Whether you delete the apps, move to a new device, or use syncing, your membership stays with you.
## Free trial
**Every app comes with a seven-day free trial**, and you can use all features without restriction during it.
You'll need to sign up for a free membership to start the trial, which you can do from any of our apps after downloading. You won't be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel any time before then.
### Trial extension
If you forgot about your trial and didn't get a chance to use the app, we're happy to extend it — just [email us](/contact) with your account email address.
## How to buy
### If you're new to our apps
Start with the seven-day free trial — no credit card required. In the app:
1. Open the **Menu**.
2. Tap **My Account**.
3. Select **Manage Subscriptions**.
4. Read the text and choose a subscription.
5. Tap **Continue**.
Your free trial begins immediately, and you won't be charged until it ends.
### If you already subscribe to one app and want the Bundle
You're halfway there — upgrade to the Bonobo Bundle in three steps. New members can still start with a seven-day free trial (no credit card required):
1. [Open your subscriptions](https://apple.co/2Th4vqI) on your device and select your Flow, Timepage, or Actions subscription.
2. Under **Options**, select **Bonobo** and follow the prompts.
3. If you have other subscriptions for any of our apps, you can cancel them using [Apple's instructions](https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT202039).
You may be eligible for a refund on the unused portion of your existing subscriptions — see [Request a refund](/support/account/refunds/).
### If you want a single app
In the app:
1. Open the **Menu**.
2. Tap **My Account**.
3. Select **Manage Subscriptions**.
4. Read the text and choose a subscription — one month or 12 months.
5. Tap **Continue**.
## Do I need a separate membership for each device?
No. A paid subscription covers every platform an app runs on — iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac.
The one exception is the legacy "Complimentary Timepage" membership, which we gave to people who bought Timepage for iOS before we moved to subscriptions in December 2017. That membership only covers Timepage for iOS.
## Free membership for Apple employees
We offer free memberships to Apple employees. Create an account if you don't already have one, then email us from your @apple.com address and let us know your account's email address (it doesn't have to be your Apple one).

# How the Bonobo Bundle works
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Web · Updated 2026-08-21*
One membership that includes Timepage, Actions, and Flow — the best-value way to subscribe. How the Bundle and the Family Bundle work.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/account/bonobo-bundle-membership/)
**Applies to:** Timepage (iPhone, iPad, Mac); Actions and Flow (iPhone, iPad, web).
The Bonobo Bundle is a single membership that includes all three of our premium apps — **Timepage**, **Actions**, and **Flow** (our fourth app, **Overlap**, is free). Instead of subscribing to each app separately, one Bundle subscription unlocks all of them on every device, which makes it the best-value way to use our apps.
## What's included
- [**Timepage**](https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id989178902?pt=542023&ct=mdshome&mt=8) is a marvellously intuitive calendar that helps you effortlessly organize your day — combining your events, maps, contacts, and weather into a single, streamlined app.
- [**Actions**](https://bonobolabs.com/actions/) is a to-do list app that helps you stay on time, on task, and on track. Productivity made simple.
- [**Flow**](https://bonobolabs.com/flow/) brings the notebook experience to your iPad and iPhone — simple drawings, intricate art, and beautiful notes. Apple Design Award winner 2019, iPad App of the Year 2019, and Red Dot Design award winner 2020.
- [**Overlap**](https://bonobolabs.com/overlap/) simplifies your life by connecting you with people across time zones. It's free.
## The Family Bundle
The Bonobo Bundle is also available as a **Family Bundle**, which lets you share your membership with up to six people through Apple's Family Sharing. Family Sharing is an Apple feature that lets a family group share purchases and subscriptions across their own Apple IDs, so each family member uses the apps on their own devices under their own account.
To activate their membership, a family member runs **Restore Purchases** from the same app you bought the Bundle in. If you haven't set up Family Sharing yet, follow [Apple's instructions](https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT201088).
## How to get the Bundle
Every Bundle subscription starts with a seven-day free trial, and you can start it from Flow, Timepage, or Actions. If you already subscribe to one of our apps individually, you can upgrade to the Bundle and Apple will refund the unused portion of your existing plan.
The full pricing and step-by-step instructions — for new members and for upgrading from a single app — are on [Buy a subscription](/support/account/purchasing-a-subscription/).

# Manage your subscription
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Web · Updated 2026-08-21*
Switch between monthly and annual plans or upgrade to the Bonobo Bundle. Apple handles the billing changes — proration, refunds, and credits — automatically.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/account/managing-your-subscription/)
**Applies to:** Timepage (iPhone, iPad, Mac); Actions and Flow (iPhone, iPad, web).
Because our memberships are Apple subscriptions, you manage them — switching plans or upgrading to the Bundle — through Apple, and Apple handles the billing changes for you. When a change means you've paid for time you won't use, Apple works out the proration, refund, or credit automatically.
## Switch between monthly and annual
If you switch a subscription between a monthly and an annual plan, Apple may prorate the change depending on the timing. The new plan can begin immediately, with Apple crediting you for any unused time on the previous plan.
## Upgrade to the Bonobo Bundle
If you already subscribe to one of our apps and switch to the [Bonobo Bundle](/support/account/bonobo-bundle-membership/), Apple handles the transition automatically:
- Your new Bundle subscription starts right away — you don't have to wait for your existing plan to finish.
- Apple cancels your individual app subscription and refunds or credits the unused portion.
- You're then billed for the Bundle (all three apps) at its discounted rate.
The refund or credit is calculated and applied by Apple's billing system based on how much time was left on your previous plan.
One thing to watch: if you subscribe to more than one of our apps individually (say, both Timepage and Flow), only the subscription in the app you upgrade through is handled automatically. Your other individual subscriptions keep renewing until you cancel them yourself. For the step-by-step upgrade, and how to cancel the leftovers, see [Buy a subscription](/support/account/purchasing-a-subscription/).
## Billing is handled by Apple
All billing, refunds, and credits go through your App Store account, so timing and amounts can vary slightly by region or subscription length. Because Apple manages the payment system, we can't issue direct refunds or adjust charges ourselves — see [Request a refund](/support/account/refunds/) for how to ask Apple.

# Request a refund
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Web · Updated 2026-08-21*
Apple bills our subscriptions, so refunds go through Apple. How to request a refund for a purchase, or for the unused portion when you switch plans.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/account/refunds/)
**Applies to:** Timepage (iPhone, iPad, Mac); Actions and Flow (iPhone, iPad, web).
Our subscriptions are purchased and billed by **Apple through the App Store**, not by Bonobo directly — so refunds are handled by Apple, and we can't issue them for you. You request the refund from Apple, and it's usually a quick process. Here's how.
## Request a refund for a purchase
1. Go to [reportaproblem.apple.com](https://reportaproblem.apple.com).
2. Sign in with your Apple ID.
3. Scroll or search to find the app you want a refund for.
4. Choose **Report a Problem**, then select the reason — for example, **"Didn't mean to purchase this item."**
Apple reviews the request and, if it's approved, refunds the charge to your original payment method.
## Refund for the unused portion when you switch plans
If you move from a single-app subscription to the Bonobo Bundle — or otherwise change plans — you may be eligible for a refund on the unused portion of your existing subscription. Apply through [Apple's refund process](https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT204084).
## Still need help?
If Apple can't resolve your refund and you think something has gone wrong, [email us](/contact) with your account email address and we'll do what we can to help.

# Cancel your subscription
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Web · Updated 2026-08-21*
Cancel your Bonobo membership through Apple's subscription settings. Cancelling keeps your data (the app goes read-only); deleting your account is separate.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/account/cancelling-a-subscription/)
**Applies to:** Timepage (iPhone, iPad, Mac); Actions and Flow (iPhone, iPad, web).
Our memberships are Apple subscriptions, so you cancel through Apple's subscription settings — not inside the app. One subscription covers all your devices, so you'll only ever have one to cancel. Cancelling won't delete your data: the app switches to read-only mode, and resubscribing later restores all its features.
## Cancel your subscription
### One click
1. Open [Manage Subscriptions](https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions?=000010).
2. Find and tap **Timepage**, **Actions**, or **Flow**.
3. Choose **Cancel Subscription**.
### From the App Store
1. Open the **App Store** app.
2. Tap your photo at the top of the screen.
3. Tap **Subscriptions**.
4. Find the subscription you'd like to cancel.
5. Choose **Cancel Subscription**.
See [Apple's guide](https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202039) for more detail.
We'd love for you to stay, but we know our apps aren't for everyone. If you have a minute, we'd genuinely like to hear why you cancelled — drop us a line at [support@bonobolabs.com](mailto:support@bonobolabs.com).
## Cancelling vs deleting your account
These are two different things. **Cancelling** stops your billing but keeps your account and data — the app just becomes read-only until you resubscribe. **Deleting your account** permanently erases your data, and can't be undone. If you only want to stop paying, cancel; you don't need to delete anything.
## Delete your account
You can delete your account and all your data in any of these ways. **There is no undo, so please be careful.**
- **In the app:** open the Menu, tap **My Account**, and choose **Delete Account**. You'll be asked to type "DELETE" to confirm. For your security you need to have signed in recently — if you're prompted, sign in again and then retry the deletion.
- **On the web:** click the **Delete Account** button on our [accounts site](https://accounts.bonobolabs.com).
- **By email:** [send us an email](/contact) and we can delete your account for you.
When you delete your account, all associated settings, data, Flow documents, and Actions are permanently removed.

# Global Price Changes
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Web · Updated 2026-08-13*
What Bonobo's move to fairer global pricing means for you, how existing subscribers are affected, and how you'll be told.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/account/global-price-changes/)
We've updated the price of Timepage, Actions, and Flow, and moved to fairer pricing across the ~175 countries we're available in. If you're a long-standing subscriber, this is likely the first time your price has ever changed. Here's the full picture.
## If you're an existing subscriber
Until June 2026, we'd never moved an existing subscriber off the price they originally signed up at. Every previous change applied only to new customers, so if you've been with us a while, you've been on your original rate the whole time, even as newer subscribers paid more. This is the first time we've adjusted existing subscriptions, and we held off doing it for as long as we could. We're a small independent team, and keeping long-time subscribers on their original price for that extra stretch was a deliberate choice.
Because of this, many of our longest-standing subscribers have paid exactly the same price since we introduced subscriptions in 2018: eight years without a single change. Over those eight years we've added major features, expanded to new platforms, and kept investing in the apps, all at that original price. There aren't many things that have held steady that long.
## Fair pricing everywhere
We've moved to pricing based on purchasing power parity, or PPP, a term you may have come across. The idea is simple: a fixed dollar amount is a small sum in one country and a large one in another, so charging everyone the same number isn't actually fair. PPP sets prices so the real cost is comparable wherever you live.
This is the opposite of charging one flat price worldwide. Apple doesn't do it automatically. We've balanced our prices across the ~175 countries we sell in, deliberately, so that people in developing economies aren't unfairly disadvantaged. It took real work to implement, and it's squarely in your interest.
Because prices are now tuned to each country, there's no single percentage that applies everywhere. Depending on your region, prices may have gone up, come down, or stayed about the same.
## Why you heard it from Apple, not us
Apple handles billing and sends price-change notices automatically before any renewal, so every affected subscriber is already notified directly. Rather than send a second, separate message that might arrive at a different time or read differently, we've put the full reasoning here.
## How you'll find out your price
If your price is changing, Apple will email you about a month before your next renewal, so you'll always know the new amount before you're charged. You can also check your plan and renewal details any time on your device, under your account name in Settings (iPhone and iPad) or the App Store (Mac).
## If you have questions
Talk to us! We're here to help. This is not a change we have undertaken lightly, and we're happy to discuss it. We hope you'll continue to support us and the products we work so hard on.

# Set up syncing
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Web · Updated 2026-08-21*
Sign in with the same Bonobo account on every device to keep your Flow and Actions data in sync. Timepage calendars sync separately, through your device.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/account/setting-up-syncing/)
**Applies to:** Your Bonobo account — Timepage (iPhone, iPad, Mac); Actions and Flow (iPhone, iPad, web).
Syncing keeps your data the same across all your devices. It works through your **Bonobo account**: when you're signed in to the same account on each device, your data is synced between them over the internet automatically. There's nothing extra to switch on — signing in is what enables it.
## What you need
- A **Bonobo account** — the free account you create from any of our apps, signed in on each device.
- The **same account** signed in on every device you want to keep in sync.
- A working internet connection on each device, so changes can be sent and received.
## Set up syncing on a new device
1. Open the app on the new device.
2. Open the **Menu** and tap **My Account**.
3. Sign in with the **same account** you use on your other devices.
Once you're signed in, your data syncs across automatically.
## Flow and Actions vs Timepage calendars
Flow and Actions store their data in your Bonobo account, so they sync through the steps above. **Timepage is different:** its calendars come directly from your calendar provider (iCloud, Google, Exchange, and so on) rather than from your Bonobo account, so each device has to be set up with those calendar accounts independently. See [Set up your calendars](/support/timepage/setting-up-calendars/).
## If your data looks different between devices
If your Flow or Actions data doesn't match across devices, check that:
- each device has a working internet connection, and
- you're signed in with the **same account** on each one (open the Menu > **My Account** in each app and confirm the account details are identical).
For Timepage events that differ between devices, see [Events aren't syncing between your devices](/support/timepage/troubleshooting-sync-between-devices/), since those come from your calendar accounts rather than from syncing.

# Adding and Editing Widgets
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-21*
Add Bonobo widgets to your Home Screen, Lock Screen, or Today View, then edit and stack them to fit your setup.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/account/adding-and-editing-widgets/)
**Applies to:** Timepage, Actions, and Flow widgets on iPhone and iPad.
Widgets let you view information from your apps at a glance on your Home Screen, Lock Screen, or Today View. This is the shared how-to for adding, editing, and organizing widgets — the steps work the same for every Bonobo app. For the specific widgets each app offers, see the per-app guides at the end.
## Adding widgets to your Home Screen
1. From the Home Screen, touch and hold a widget or an empty area until the apps jiggle.
2. Tap Edit in the top left-hand corner.
3. Tap Add Widget.
4. Select a widget, choose a widget size, then tap Add Widget.
5. Tap Done.
## Adding widgets to your Lock Screen
With iOS 16 and later, you can add widgets to your Lock Screen to view information at a glance — for example, the temperature, air quality, battery level, or upcoming calendar events.
1. Touch and hold the Lock Screen until the Customise button appears, then tap Customise.
2. Tap Add Widgets.
3. Tap or drag the widgets you want to add to the Lock Screen.
4. When you're finished, tap the close button, then tap Done.
If there's not enough room for a new widget, you can tap the Remove button to remove a widget and make room for the one you want to add.
## Adding widgets to Today View
1. Swipe left from the Home Screen or Lock Screen.
2. Touch and hold a widget or an empty area in Today View until the apps jiggle.
3. Tap Edit in the top left-hand corner.
4. Tap Add Widget.
5. Scroll down to select a widget, then tap Add Widget.
6. Tap Done.
## Editing widgets
Some widgets offer different configurations. For example, you can edit the Weather widget to see the forecast for your current location or a different location.
To edit widgets from Today View:
1. Swipe left from the Home Screen or Lock Screen.
2. Touch and hold a widget to open the quick actions menu.
3. Tap Edit Widget or choose a different layout.
4. Make your changes, then tap outside the widget to exit it.
You can also move your widgets around to put your favourite ones where they're easier to find. Just touch and hold a widget until it jiggles, then move the widget around on the screen.
## Using widget stacks
You can use widget stacks to save space on your Home Screen and in Today View. You can use Smart Stacks or create your own widget stacks.
### Add a Smart Stack
A Smart Stack is a pre-built collection of widgets that displays the right widget based on factors like your location, an activity, or the time. A Smart Stack automatically rotates widgets to show the most relevant information throughout the day.
To add a Smart Stack:
1. Touch and hold an area on your Home Screen or in Today View until the apps jiggle.
2. Tap Edit in the top left-hand corner.
3. Tap Add Widget.
4. Scroll down, select A Smart Stack, then tap Add Widget.
5. Tap Done.
### Create your own widget stacks
1. Touch and hold an app or empty area on the Home Screen or Today View until the apps jiggle.
2. Drag a widget on top of another widget. You can stack up to 10 widgets.
3. Tap Done.
### Edit a widget stack
1. Touch and hold the widget stack.
2. Tap Edit Stack. From here, you can reorder the widgets in the stack by dragging and dropping the app where you want it in the stack. You can also turn Smart Rotate on or off.
3. Tap Done.
When Smart Rotate is on, iOS shows you relevant widgets throughout the day.
With iOS 15 and later, you can turn on Widget Suggestions, so apps you already use can automatically appear in your Smart Stack at the right time based on your past activity. An option lets you add the widget to your stack so it's always there when you need it. Just follow steps 1-2, then tap Widget Suggestions to turn it on.
You need iOS 14 or later to use Smart Stacks or create your own widget stacks.
## Customizing widgets on iPad
On iPad, you can customize app icons and widgets on the Home Screen by changing their color, adding a tint, making them larger or smaller, and more.
- Go to the Home Screen.
- Touch and hold the Home Screen background until the icons begin to jiggle.
- Tap Edit at the top of the screen, then choose Customize.
- Do any of the following:
- **Make the icons bigger:** Tap the Large App Icons button. (In large size, the names of the apps disappear.)
- **Choose a dark appearance for icons and widgets:** Tap Dark. To show icons and widgets with a dark appearance at night and a light appearance during the day, tap Auto.
- **Give the icons a clear look:** Tap Clear to make the icons translucent, then choose Light, Dark, or Auto.
- **Add a color tint to icons and widgets:** Tap Tinted. Use the sliders to choose the color and saturation (or use the eyedropper to select a color in your wallpaper). Then choose Light, Dark, or Auto.
## Removing widgets
1. Touch and hold the widget that you want to remove.
2. Tap Remove Widget.
3. Tap Remove again to confirm.
## Control Center controls (iOS 18)
On iOS 18 and later, some of our apps also offer Control Center controls — quick buttons you can add to Control Center (and use as Lock Screen controls) to jump straight into a common action, like adding an event or task.
To add one:
1. Swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen to open Control Center.
2. Tap the Add button (+) in the top-left corner.
3. Tap Add a Control, then scroll or search to find the control you want.
4. Tap the control to add it, then tap anywhere to finish.
Available controls depend on the app — for example, Timepage offers Add New Event, Open Today, and Event Countdown; Actions offers Quick Add and Open Actions; and Flow offers Quick Add and Open Flow. See the per-app widget guides below for the full list.

# Widgets are blank, or not displaying correctly
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-21*
Fix Bonobo widgets that show up blank or won't update. A short set of steps clears up almost every widget display problem on iPhone and iPad.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/account/widgets-are-blank-or-not-displaying-correctly/)
**Applies to:** Timepage, Actions, and Flow widgets on iPhone and iPad.
A widget shows a cached snapshot of data from its app rather than talking to your data live, so when it goes blank or looks wrong it's usually because that snapshot is stale — the app hasn't run recently, needs an update, or the widget is pointed at data that isn't there. Working through the steps below clears up almost every case.
## Quick fixes
Try these in order — the first couple resolve most problems:
1. **Remove and re-add the widget.** Touch and hold the widget, tap **Remove Widget**, then add it again (see [Adding and Editing Widgets](/support/account/adding-and-editing-widgets/)).
2. **Open the app once.** Widgets refresh from the app, so opening it lets the widget pick up current data.
3. **Update the app.** Make sure you're on the latest version from the App Store.
4. **Force quit the app**, then reopen it.
5. **Restart your device.**
## If a data widget is blank
Widgets that show your own data — your schedule, upcoming events, or next action — can look blank when there's simply nothing to show, or when they're configured for the wrong source. Check that:
- you're signed in to the right account, and
- the widget is pointed at a calendar or list that actually has items in it (a widget set to a hidden calendar or an empty list will appear blank).
You can change a widget's source by editing it — see [Adding and Editing Widgets](/support/account/adding-and-editing-widgets/).
## Still not working?
If your widgets are still blank after all of the above, contact us at [support@bonobolabs.com](mailto:support@bonobolabs.com) and we'll help you get them working.

# Can't subscribe
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Web · Updated 2026-08-21*
If subscribing fails with a "Cannot connect to iTunes Store" error, it's usually an App Store connection issue on your device. Here's how to fix it.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/account/cannot-subscribe/)
**Applies to:** Timepage (iPhone, iPad, Mac); Actions and Flow (iPhone, iPad, web).
If you hit an error while signing up for a membership, it's almost always a problem between your device and the App Store rather than with the app itself — subscriptions are processed by Apple, so the payment has to reach the App Store to go through. The usual culprit is a **"Cannot connect to iTunes Store"** error.
## Fix a subscription error
Work through Apple's guide for this exact error, which covers the common fixes (check your connection, sign out and back in to the App Store, confirm your payment method, and update your device): [Cannot connect to iTunes Store](https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT201400).
If you've tried every step in that article and still can't subscribe, [get in touch](/contact) and we'll do our best to help.

# Your membership isn't recognized
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Web · Updated 2026-08-21*
If an app doesn't recognize your active membership, check you're signed in to the right account and use Restore Purchases to re-link your subscription.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/account/membership-not-recognized/)
**Applies to:** Timepage (iPhone, iPad, Mac); Actions and Flow (iPhone, iPad, web).
If one of our apps isn't recognizing a membership you're paying for, it's usually because the app is signed in to a different account than the one you subscribed with, or because the purchase needs to be re-linked to the app. Work through the checks below.
## Check you're signed in to the right account
Confirm you're logged in, and that you're using the **same account you had when you first signed up** for the membership. A membership is tied to the account it was purchased under, so signing in with a different email is the most common reason an app doesn't see it.
## Restore your purchases
"Restore Purchases" asks Apple to re-check your Apple ID for an active subscription and re-link it to the app — it's the fix when a subscription you're paying for isn't showing as active.
1. Open the **Menu**.
2. Tap **My Account**.
3. Tap **Restore Purchases**.
Your membership should be recognized again within a few moments.
## Still not recognized?
If your membership still isn't showing after checking your account and restoring purchases, [contact support](/contact) and we'll sort it out with you.

# Send us your crash logs
*Applies to: iOS, iPadOS · Updated 2026-08-21*
When we're troubleshooting an issue, a crash log helps us see what went wrong. Here's how to find crash logs on your iPhone or iPad and send them to us.
[Original article](https://bonobolabs.com/support/account/send-crash-logs/)
**Applies to:** Timepage, Actions, and Flow on iPhone and iPad.
While we're troubleshooting an issue with you, we might ask for a crash log. A crash log is a small diagnostic file your device records when an app closes unexpectedly; it tells us what the app was doing at the moment it failed, which is often the fastest way for us to pin down a bug. You can find these logs on your own device and send them to us.
## Find and send a crash log
1. On your iPhone or iPad, go to **Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements > Analytics Data**.
2. You'll see an alphabetical list of all the crash logs on your device.
3. Scroll to the app in question and tap the most recent log — it'll be named something like `Timepage-2026-01-02-03-123456.ips`.
4. Tap the **share** button in the top-right corner, or copy and paste the whole contents of the log into your reply to us.
