## Apple Weather (WeatherKit)

Timepage now uses Apple Weather (WeatherKit) to provide weather data.

We **strongly recommend** that you update to the latest version of Timepage from the App Store to ensure you continue to get weather information.

For more about the weather update, see the [Timepage 4.9 release notes](/whatsnew/en/timepage/4.9/).

If you encounter issues with weather, first _check you are using the most recent version of Timepage_ from the App Store. Once you've done that, here are some other things you can try:

## Weather not appearing on the Timeline

If you are not seeing weather data in the Timeline, there are several things to check:

### Location Services are not Available

Make sure that **Location Services** are enabled for Timepage in your device settings.

1. Open the **Settings** app on your device.
2. Tap the **Apps** category.
3. Tap **Timepage**.
4. Tap **Location Services**.
5. Ensure that **Location Services** is turned on (either **Always** or **When Using the App**).

### Weather Service may be Temporarily Unavailable

The weather service is **temporarily unavailable**, or you are in a **region with limited forecast information**. You may experience the following:

- "No forecast available." message in the Timeline
- Weather data (either on the Timeline, or on the Day View) not appearing

You can test to see whether other locations are available by changing the location in the Weather preferences.

1. Open the Timepage app.
2. Tap the **Menu** button in the top left corner of the screen.
3. Tap **Preferences**.
4. Tap **Weather**.
5. Tap **Weather Location**.
6. Search for, or select a location from the list of available locations.
7. Tap **The location that you want to use**.

You may also need to update Timepage to the latest version from the App Store to resolve this issue.

For more about the weather update, see the [Timepage 4.9 release notes](/whatsnew/en/timepage/4.9/).

### Located in a Weather Service Region with Limited Forecast Information

If you are in a region that may have limited forecast information, you can potentially resolve this by explicitly setting a location in Timepage's **Weather** prefernces:

1. Open the Timepage app.
2. Tap the **Menu** button in the top left corner of the screen.
3. Tap **Preferences**.
4. Tap **Weather**.
5. Tap **Weather Location**.
6. Search for, or select a location from the list of available locations.
7. Tap **The location that you want to use**.

### Older Version of Timepage

Timepage now uses Apple Weather (WeatherKit) to provide weather data. If you're using an older version of Timepage, you may need to update to the latest version from the App Store to resolve this issue.

For more about the weather update, see the [Timepage 4.9 release notes](/whatsnew/en/timepage/4.9/).

### Stale, or no weather data appears in the full weather view

If weather has been synchronised from the weather service, but is not appearing to update after a period of time, or information in the full weather view is not updated, you may need to clear the weather cache:

1. Open the Timepage app.
2. Tap the **Menu** button in the top left corner of the screen.
3. Tap **Preferences**.
4. Tap **Weather**.
5. Tap **Clear Weather Cache**.
6. Tap **Clear Cache**.
