Drag and resize the Pen Dock
The Pen Dock can now be moved anywhere on screen. Just grab it by the grip area at the bottom. If you drag it near the bottom of the screen where the magnet icon appears, it will rotate and snap to be horizontal.
You can now resize the Pen Dock too by using the new resize bar at the bottom. When you have more pens than fit on the dock, they will now all become scrollable, including the tools at the top (ruler, eraser, etc).
So now you can have a tiny Pen Dock in the top right with a single pen, or a huge one across the bottom with heaps, whatever works best for you and what you’re working on.
Drag the Pen Editor anywhere too
Previously the Pen Editor could be moved horizontally but was locked to the center of the screen. Now it can be dragged anywhere too, and can snap to the top of the screen rotated horizontally.
Updated Pen Editor controls
This update improves the pen size picker by changing from a wheel of sizes to be more like a slider. So now the size control displays all the possible pen sizes at once, and you simply tap or slide up and down on it to choose the size. It’s a faster and clearer way to choose a size than before (but might take a moment to get used to).
The current color swatch has moved down to be near the eyedropper button, now that the size control is a little larger. You can also press and hold the color swatch itself to activate the eyedropper directly.
Scratchpad for testing tools
When the Pen Editor is opened there is a new button in the top right of the screen to turn on the Scratchpad. This makes the background around the editor a place where you can scribble to try out the current pen. A new Done button in the top right of the editor lets you close it.
Quick share from a Lasso Knife selection
When you select something with the Lasso Knife, there is now an export button on the floating panel that appears with the selection. Tap it to open the system share sheet, where you can copy to your clipboard, save to Photos, AirDrop to another device, or send to any compatible app.
Updated Color Palette panel
You can now drag from the corner of the Color Palette panel to resize it and choose how many swatches are visible.
A softer Correction Pen
The Correction Pen now has three softness settings, so you can choose how gentle or sharp the edge is with the control that appears on the editor when it is selected.
Smoother document browsing
A big performance improvement on the documents screen means that when you’re browsing your collections it should be much smoother than before. You can also now tap a collection name at the top of the screen to rename it.
Faster menus everywhere
Menus that pop up across the app, including Dock Options, Layer Options, and the mini color picker, now appear instantly and feel much more responsive.
Updated Document Setup screen
The Document Setup screen has been restyled and reorganized so the options are grouped more clearly and easier to choose between.
Updated Export screen
A new look and clearer layout for the Document/Image Export screen, the Timelapse Export, and their controls, so it’s easier to find the option you want.
