Welcome to the Bonobo blog! We’re the team behind Actions, Flow, and Timepage, and we figured it’s time we actually talk about what goes on behind the scenes.
Why we’re doing this
So here’s the thing: we’ve been making productivity apps for years, but we’ve been pretty quiet about the why and how. That changes now.
This blog is where we’ll share what we’re working on, why we made certain design decisions, and what it’s actually like building apps as a small team. No corporate speak, no marketing fluff. Just us being honest about what we’re up to.
We love that we make things that help us in our own daily lives, so we felt it was really important to share what we’ve learned, and how you can get the most out of them too.
Quick intro
We’re Bonobo Labs. There’s about ten of us, and we make three apps:
- Actions helps you manage tasks without the overwhelm
- Flow gives you a canvas for sketching and note-taking that actually feels natural
- Timepage makes calendars beautiful and useful (finally)
Every feature we ship? We’ve used it ourselves first. If something feels off to us, it definitely won’t make it to you. That’s the benefit of being small — we can care about every detail.
Whether it’s Nate hand-tweaking every animation for maximum smoothness, or Adam diving deep into the code to make sure every feature is rock-solid, being small lets us care about every single detail.
How we think about productivity
Here’s our take: productivity isn’t about cramming more into your day. It’s about getting the important stuff done without fighting your tools.
That’s why our apps feel different. We don’t add features just because competitors have them. We add them because we’ve hit the exact problem they solve and thought, “there’s got to be a better way.”
When you open Actions, Flow, or Timepage, you should feel ready to dive in and discover what you can do. The interface gets out of the way so you can get the most out of your time.
What you’ll find here
Expect articles about:
- Product updates: What’s new and why we built it
- Design thinking: The choices behind what you see (and don’t see)

- Productivity thoughts: How we actually use our own apps
No jargon, no fluff. Just the real stuff.
The bigger picture
Actions, Flow, and Timepage might look like three separate tools, but they’re all built on the same idea: help you do your best work without the friction.
Whether you’re planning your week in Timepage, sketching out an idea in Flow, or knocking out your task list in Actions, the experience should feel smooth and yours.
We built these apps because we needed them. Now we’re sharing what we’ve learned along the way.
Thanks for being here. More coming soon.
