Adding Additional Details to Events
Events can display people, location, notes, and more
People and Places
You can quickly add people and location when you’re typing in the event title, or after you’ve entered the title and the full event screen is shown.
- Add an event either in Day View, Heat Map, or with 3D Touch
- Type the activity (Dinner, Workout, etc.)
- Type a name
- If the person added is in your contacts, Timepage will display their information
- If the person added is not in your contacts, the title will simply display their name
- If there is a location set for the event, start typing it and select from the locations displayed.
Location
Adding a location will let you get travel times to the event.
Notes
Notes can be any useful info you want to type in about the event.
Reminders
To set up a reminder, tap into an event and scroll to the Reminders header. You can be reminded at any or all of the following options:
- One week before
- One day before
- One hour before
- 30 minutes before
- 15 minutes before
- 10 minutes before
- Five minutes before
- When event starts
If you have reminders set for events but aren’t receiving them, the most likely reason is Notifications are turned off in your iPhone preferences. You can fix this by turning them back on:
- Go to your iPhone Settings app.
- Select Notifications > Timepage.
- Ensure “Allow Notifications” is turned on.
- Ensure the other options are turned on and the alert style is “Banners” or “Alerts”.
It is also important to make sure that “Background App Refresh” is enabled for Timepage. Timepage needs to be able to occasionally check for updated events and reschedule notifications accordingly:
- Go to your iPhone Settings app.
- Select General > Background App Refresh.
- Ensure “Background App Refresh” is enabled at the top of the screen.
- Ensure it is also enabled for Timepage specifically.
Repeats
Repeating events are perfect for lots of activities – consistent meetings, weekly practices, starting new habits, and more. Instead of having to add a new item for everything in your calendar, repeats allow you to carry over information every time the activity is scheduled. Like the options above, repeats can be found while viewing an event. Near the bottom of the list is the Repeats header – tap it to create a repeat.
Repeats in Timepage can be as simple or as complex as you need. For example, if you want an event to repeat every day, just tap “Daily,” choose the one day interval, and select an end date. For the more infrequent or inconsistent events, you can make the necessary adjustments for a different time scale. Here are the various repeat options:
- Frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly)
- Repeat interval (examples: 1 day, 2 weeks repeating on Sunday, 3 months repeating every 4th Thursday, 4 years)
- End (never, after a number of times, or on a specific date)
