Issues Changing Calendars

In iOS 18.4, Apple introduced a bug that affects editing calendar events in Timepage, particularly when changing which calendar an event is saved to (for example, from iCloud to Google, or between Google accounts).

Timepage Update

We’ve released a workaround for this issue in Timepage v4.7.4, which improves event saving in many cases.
However, due to limitations in iOS, this fix does not apply to:

  • Recurring events
  • Events with attendees

If you’re seeing errors, please ensure you have the latest version of Timepage installed from the App Store.

Apple Fix in iOS 18.5

Apple has resolved this issue in iOS 18.5, but it has not yet been publicly released. You may be able to install the iOS beta to resolve the issue in the meantime.

“Failed to change calendar” for Repeating or Events with Attendees

Even under normal conditions, moving events between calendar services (iCloud, Google, Exchange) can fail if:

  • The event is recurring
  • The event includes attendees

These are limitations imposed by the calendar services themselves.

Workaround

If you encounter this issue there are two workarounds. The first way is to create a new event:

  1. Create a new event on the correct calendar.
  2. Re-add any recurrence rules or attendees.
  3. Delete the original event from the old calendar.

Or alternatively, you can duplicate the original event:

  1. Long-press on the event from the Day screen and select “Duplicate”. This will create a new copy of the event without the attendees and repeats.
  2. In the newly created duplicate, choose the destination calendar account then add any necessary repeats or attendees.
  3. Delete the original event if necessary.
