Timepage Integration
Getting work done is only possible if there’s time for it in your day. Planning too many tasks for a day where you’re all tied up with meetings isn’t going to leave you productive – it’ll just leave you overbooked.
When you use both Timepage and Actions, the two work together to help you work smarter. This integration allows you to see your calendar events and Action Cards in both apps, with changes syncing automatically.
Overview
When you use both Timepage and Actions, the two apps share information in both directions:
- Timepage events in Actions: Your calendar events appear in Actions’ Schedule panel - see Timepage in Actions for details
- Actions in Timepage: Your Action Cards appear in Timepage’s Timeline and Day View - see Actions in Timepage for details
- Automatic sync: Changes made in either app appear in the other automatically
This integration helps you see your full schedule (events + tasks) in one place, making it easier to plan your day and avoid overbooking.
Setting Up the Integration
Requirements:
- Both apps installed on your device
- Same Bonobo account signed in to both apps - see Creating and Managing Accounts
- In Actions: Menu > Account
- In Timepage: Menu > Account
- Sign in with email, Google, or Apple – use the same account for both
- Internet connection for syncing
Setup Steps:
- Install both Actions and Timepage on your device
- Sign in with the same Bonobo account in both apps
- Open Actions, go to Menu > Account, and sign in
- Open Timepage, go to Menu > Account, and sign in with the same account
- The integration happens automatically once both apps are signed in
After setup, events you add to Timepage will immediately begin appearing in Actions, and tasks you add to Actions will appear in Timepage.
Viewing Timepage Events in Actions
Schedule Panel
All your Timepage events automatically appear in Actions under the Schedule panel on their relevant day. This helps you see your full schedule (events + tasks) in one place.
Features:
- Events display with their representative calendar color, so you can distinguish which calendar they belong to
- Events appear on the correct day based on when they’re scheduled
- Tapping on an event launches that day in Timepage, where you can view more information on your schedule
This unified view helps you understand when you have time for tasks versus when you’re busy with meetings, so you can plan more effectively.
Moving Tasks to Calendar
If you’re adding an Action Card that feels more like a calendar event, you can quickly move it over to Timepage by tapping the “move to Timepage” icon above the keyboard. Timepage will then launch, and you can continue putting in the information.
Viewing Actions in Timepage
Your Action Cards automatically appear in Timepage on their scheduled dates. This gives you a complete view of your day – both your calendar events and your tasks.
In Timeline View:
- Action Cards appear on their scheduled dates in Timepage’s Timeline
- Tasks display their name on the date you assigned in Actions
- Visual distinction: Events show their calendar color, while Actions show a small color-coded hyphen next to the title
In Day View:
- All to-dos for that day appear under an “Actions” header in Timepage’s Day View
- Action Cards show their List color and title
- Actions display their List and Schedule information from Actions
Interacting with Actions from Timepage:
You can manage your Action Cards directly from Timepage:
- View details: Tap an Action Card to launch Actions and see full details (notes, schedule, List)
- Mark complete: Swipe right to left (short) on an Action Card
- Reschedule: Swipe left to right (short) to reschedule
- Delete: Swipe left to right (long) to delete
- Drag and drop: Drag Action Cards from one day and drop them to another
- Create new Action: Tap the plus (+) button at bottom of screen, then tap “Action” – this launches Actions where you type the title, then press Done to return to Timepage
All changes made in Timepage sync back to Actions automatically, so you don’t have to worry about marking tasks in multiple places.
Sync Behavior
Automatic Synchronization:
Changes sync automatically between Actions and Timepage in both directions:
What syncs:
- Action Cards (creation, completion, deletion, rescheduling)
- Task details (title, notes, schedule, List)
- Changes made in either app appear in the other
Sync timing:
- Usually near-instant, but may take a moment depending on your connection
- Both apps must be signed in with the same Bonobo account
- Requires internet connection
How It Works:
- Changes in Actions → Automatically appear in Timepage
- Changes in Timepage → Automatically appear in Actions
- No manual sync needed – everything happens automatically
You don’t have to mark tasks in multiple places – it’s all synchronized. Acting on a Card in Actions will also affect the Card found in Timepage, and vice versa.
For more information about syncing, see Setting up Syncing.
Platform Support
The Actions ↔ Timepage integration works on:
- iOS: Full integration supported (iPhone and iPad)
- macOS: Full integration supported
Both apps support cross-device syncing, so your tasks and events appear across all devices when signed in with the same account.
Benefits
By using Actions and Timepage together, you can:
- Work smarter: See your full day at a glance with both events and tasks
- Avoid overbooking: Know when you have time for tasks vs. when you’re busy with meetings
- Never miss a thing: Tasks and events in one unified view
- Seamless workflow: Create tasks from calendar context or move tasks to calendar when needed
- Plan effectively: See your schedule and tasks together to make better decisions about your time
