Connect an Exchange calendar

Applies to: iOS, iPadOS, macOSUpdated August 2026

Applies to: Timepage on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Timepage doesn’t connect to Exchange directly — it shows the calendars your device is signed in to. So connecting an Exchange calendar is two steps: add your Exchange account to your device, then turn its calendars on in Timepage. Because Exchange is usually a corporate system, you may need some settings from your IT administrator first. (Outlook 365 runs on Exchange, so it follows this guide; a personal Outlook.com account uses Sync Timepage with Outlook.)

Before you start

From your IT administrator, you may need:

  • Server address — your Exchange server URL.
  • Domain — your company domain, if required.
  • Username — usually your full email address.
  • Password — your Exchange password.
  • Security requirements — any certificates or device-compliance settings.

Add your Exchange account to your device

On iPhone or iPad:

  1. Open Settings > Apps > Calendar > Calendar Accounts.
  2. Tap Add Account, then select Microsoft Exchange.
  3. Enter your email address and follow the prompts to sign in (you may need to tap Open Browser, or enter the server details above if your organization requires manual setup).
  4. Make sure Calendars is turned on for the account, then tap Save.

On Mac:

  1. Open System Settings > Internet Accounts.
  2. Click Add Account and choose Microsoft Exchange.
  3. Sign in with your credentials (or the server details from IT).
  4. Turn on Calendars in the account settings, then click Done.

Turn your Exchange calendars on in Timepage

On iPhone or iPad: open the Menu > Calendars > Setup Calendars, find your Exchange calendars, and enable the ones you want to see.

On Mac: open Settings > Calendars and tick each calendar you want to show.

You can then tap Default Calendar to choose where new events save, and tap the coloured circle beside a calendar to recolour it.

What syncs

Changes sync both ways and are usually near-instant. Recurring meetings sync, you can accept or decline invitations and see meeting responses from Timepage, and calendars you have delegate access to appear once that access is set in Outlook. Free/busy and out-of-office information follow your Exchange settings. To use more than one Exchange account, add each to your device and enable its calendars in Timepage.

Troubleshooting

Can’t authenticate with the server

Verify the server settings with your IT administrator, check your username format (often the full email address), confirm your password isn’t expired, and check whether two-factor authentication or account lockout is involved.

Calendar isn’t syncing

Check your internet connection, confirm the account is configured in your device settings with Calendars on and enabled in Menu > Calendars > Setup Calendars, and check whether your organization restricts sync. Signing out and back in can help.

Changes are slow to appear

Check Settings > Apps > Calendar > Calendar Accounts > Fetch New Data. Turn on Push where available; many Exchange configurations only allow Fetch, so set the schedule. Your organization may also apply server-side sync policies.

Certificate or security warnings

Install any certificates from your IT department, make sure your device meets the security requirements, and update to the latest iOS or macOS.

“Access denied” or permission errors

Timepage needs calendar permission on each device — your data stays with your Exchange provider; the permission is only so Timepage can display events on-device.

  • iPhone/iPad: Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars, tap Timepage, choose Full Access.
  • Mac: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars, enable Timepage (if set to Add Only, open Options and choose Full Access).

For enterprise-specific issues, your IT administrator is the fastest route.
