Applies to: Timepage on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Timepage doesn’t connect to Google directly — it shows the calendars your device is signed in to. So syncing Google Calendar with Timepage is two steps: add your Google account to your device, then turn its calendars on in Timepage. Your Google data stays with Google; Timepage just displays it on your device.
Add your Google account to your device
On iPhone or iPad:
- Open Settings > Apps > Calendar > Calendar Accounts.
- Tap Add Account, then select Google.
- If prompted, tap Open Browser to sign in.
- Follow the prompts to sign in and allow access to your calendar.
- Make sure Calendars is turned on for the account, then tap Save.
On Mac:
- Open System Settings > Internet Accounts.
- Click Add Account and choose Google.
- Sign in with your Google credentials.
- Turn on Calendars in the account settings, then click Done.
Turn your Google calendars on in Timepage
Once the account is on your device, Timepage can see its calendars.
On iPhone or iPad: open the Menu > Calendars > Setup Calendars, find your Google calendars, and enable the ones you want to see.
On Mac: open Settings > Calendars and tick each calendar you want to show.
Set a default calendar and colours
Tap Default Calendar to pick which calendar new events save to (you can only choose from visible calendars). To recolour a calendar, tap the coloured circle next to its name, choose from a palette (Mono, Vivid, Pastel, Muted, Dark, Neon), and confirm with the tick. Turn on Match to Timepage colours to snap a calendar’s existing colour to the closest Timepage colour.
What syncs
Changes sync both ways and are usually near-instant: create or edit an event in either Timepage or Google and it appears in the other. Recurring events, descriptions, locations, and attendees all sync. Calendars shared with you in Google, holiday calendars, and any calendars you’ve made appear too, and Timepage respects Google’s sharing permissions.
To use multiple Google accounts, add each one to your device, then enable its calendars (and set colours) in Timepage. To share a calendar, do it from Google Calendar on the web — shared calendars sync down to your device and then appear in Timepage.
Troubleshooting
Google calendars don’t appear in Timepage
- Confirm the Google account is added in your device settings and that Calendars is on for it.
- Make sure the calendar is enabled in Menu > Calendars > Setup Calendars.
- Check Timepage has calendar permission (see below).
- If it still doesn’t show, remove and re-add the Google account in device settings.
Events aren’t syncing
Check your internet connection and that you’re signed in, then check how often your device fetches data: Settings > Apps > Calendar > Calendar Accounts > Fetch New Data. Turn on Push where it’s available (fastest); for accounts that only support Fetch, set the schedule. Restarting Timepage can also help.
Some events are missing
Confirm the calendar is enabled in Setup Calendars and isn’t hidden, that you’re looking in the right date range, and — for a shared calendar — that you’ve accepted the invitation in Google.
Events appear more than once
Usually this means the same calendar is subscribed twice — check for duplicate calendar accounts in your device settings and your sharing settings in Google Calendar.
Timepage can’t see your calendars at all (permission)
Timepage needs calendar permission on each device. Your calendar data stays with your provider (Google) — this permission is only so Timepage can display events on-device; nothing is sent to our servers.
- iPhone/iPad: Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars, tap Timepage, and choose Full Access.
- Mac: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars, enable Timepage; if it’s set to Add Only, open Options and choose Full Access.
